Title: [Cracked Sidewalks] George Mason Preview
Post by: brewcity77 on September 10, 2024, 07:33:19 AM
George Mason exceeded expectations in year one under Tony Skinn. He brings a team projected in the top-100 to the Al McGuire Center for a students only game. Today we break down the Patriots.

Welp, no choice now but to go down a TKO YouTube rabbit hole for the rest of the afternoon.
Someone please send down a monkey with a sandwich.

Not subscribed to Kenpom, but Haslametrics has this one at about a 9 point game and a 3 out of 3 stars.

There will be a lot of talent packed into that little gym. Should be a fun one and a good test for MU on Friday night.

If Haslametrics is run by the partial owner of the Bucks, it's probably best to believe the opposite of what it says.

T-Rank also has it at about a 9-10 game FWIW.

KenPom: 79-67 MU, 86% win prob.

Mason beat NC Central 75-58 last night. Shot it like crap from 3 (2-17), turned it over 17 times, but grabbed 18 offensive boards and got to the line 41 times.

They have some dudes but I don't know how well they've jelled yet. If MU can get out to a solid start that atmosphere could be overwhelming.

Glad this one is at the Al. Probably no coincidence. GM will be entering a hornet's nest.

You think the Al is a tougher environment than 15,000 at Fiserv?

A half full spacious NBA arena vs. a jam packed tiny arena full of only students.  Hmm...

My schedule says this game will be broadcast on Peacock.  Is there any way to watch it without subscribing?

Peacock doesn't have a free trial...but Instacart+ does, and comes with Peacock.  Just cancel Instacart in the first 2 weeks.

You may wanna just get peacock for a few months. Its honestly pretty worth it. Lots of shows and movies and other sports as is.

We play on there a handful of times through the year not just Friday.

Their center looks 300+ pounds and plays above the rim at times.

Ben will have a chance to knock down a bunch of 3s. If he isn't making them, we could see a bunch of Hamilton.
