Title: [Paint Touches] Who has the toughest non-con schedule in the Big East?
Post by: PaintTouches on September 05, 2024, 09:43:17 AM
That's the hook, but most of the post is more about the newest measure on the selection committee's teamsheet called WAB, Wins Against Bubble, and how it's the best measure for a question like this.

Here's MU's schedule via Torvik with WAB included.

Georgetown should just up and join the Patriot League with that schedule.

Is the WAB based only on preseason expectations or is it adjusted as the season goes on? A key injury completely changes a team's expectations.

It changes daily based on the results of not just the team you are playing, but every other result that day. So if Iowa State only ends up being a top-15 team rather than a top-5 team, that WAB will probably drop to .7-ish rather than the current .84. The "true" WAB is that on Selection Sunday.

they'd still finish in the bottom half of the standings.
