Many sports betting sites on YouTube, whatever they are worth, pick NC State, taking the points. A common observation is that MU is a team of two halves; one half is a final-four team (first half Colorado, second half WKU) the other is a marginal Sweet 16 team. Just reporting what I have seen.
Jinx.
How dare he look past NC State.
Also, Katz is a Badger who hates Marquette.

I'm not saying every teams last two/three tourney games should be dismissed, but it is a small sample size to judge a team. I believe MU has covered the spread in the last two.
Am I shocked the media is overblowing just the Tourney results? No.
He should have them in FF.
I think MU is taking notice of all the naysayers. Lots of media pundits are overlooking MU.

I am perfectly fine with this.
On the other side of the coin Steve Greenberg of the Sun Times has us losing to NC State.

Idk about betting sites. But I listen to a lot of the podcast shows and I dont think Ive seen anyone take Nc State to win yet. And most think its gonna be a blow out
Katz also had the Badgers as a sleeper Final Four team.
He had the sleeping part right.

I don't think this is true based on what you've said many times about some of the current players on the Marquette roster.
I only think he picked MU in his S-16 second chance because his original South blew up. Go back and watch what he says. So I think he picked us as an off chance he would get a win over everybody else who's not picking MU. My guess if he had real money on it, hE is not with MU.

Who cares?
Yeah, the whole "Andy Katz really doesn't WANT to pick Marquette, but is only doing so to win a contest" is just thinking a little too hard about something.

No. He's just a very annoying local beat writer.

Kenpom should start a new metric for whether reporters truly believes their predictions.

He doesn't have to. He's right way more than them, so he'd just embarrass them

Click and Clack, the Tappet Brothers of past NPR fame, began their programs with the standard caveat "All of our answers are unencumbered by the thought process." This should be Scoop's motto.
