Ok, I don't usually participate in too much UW conversation, but since I already let a Pather have a blog today...what the hell.
I just looked at tonight's games and saw that Bucky is playing Winthrop at 7pm CT. I'll probably root for Winthrop, just because I'm a notorious underdog fan when I have no affiliation with the opposing team. Nonetheless, imagine the irony if Wisconsin loses to Winthrop this year after we just suffered a loss to NDSU. Talk about tables turning.
Of course, following that line of thought, if the tables are turning, then Saturday will be a huge W for Marquette ;D
Rocky... you're a tech guru, maybe you could answer this for me. Do you have any idea how ESPN360 blocks ISPs? I was thinking about trying a proxy to try and watch the Winthrop game.
I don't think you'd find a proxy that would let you in, but more power if you do!
There is (or was) *some* hack out there that would let you access the stream directly (without going through the ESPN launch page). Essentially, if someone can give you the URL of the raw stream, I think you can watch it with media player.
Never figured out how that worked though, I just know I visited a message board last year and someone had a link to the feed that worked (after the espn360 free period was over). Maybe try googling it.
Here's an article (http://www.lifehacker.com/software/top/stream-any-world-cup-soccer-game-from-espn360-182708.php) that describes the hack.
Anyone here with 360 that could get the .asx feed name for us?

This is awesome. Worked for me. Thanks. Go Winthrop.

works for me...how did you find the exact URL?
Is the size small like this for subscribers too or can you get a full screen feed?
Winthrop fan posted it on the Badger board. My guess is the same template will follow for our games on there as well.
pretty sweet!! ain't technology grand!!
thanks guys!!

Well, not sure how the original user did it, but there's a cool ethernet tool called Ethereal that can track all information sent out of your computer through an internet link. Even if the url is hidden behind flash, the flash will make an http request, and Ethereal will catch it. Cool stuff. Unfortunately, I don't have espn360 so I can't do this. I know someone that does though, so we'll have to talk to him about this method when MU's games come to 360 :)
That is...if the same template doesn't work...
Go Friggin Winthrop!!!! Up 2 with a minute left!!
Overtiime... Winthrop had a great look to win but missed it short.
Gotta think UW will win in overtime.
OT!!!
barf...Winthrop had their chance...looks like UW will win it (..but 60 secs left)
OT is going to go to the home team.
