Gotta say the officiating for these two MU games sure seems more level/consistent and better than what we saw in the Big East. Though there may be some* benefit to playing in a league that is so physical. I just didn't find myself having many WTF moments around calls these last two games, when there were A LOT of them, particularly in the Big East tournament.
The Big East needs to stop with the quasi-football approach to officiating. I like the physical identity of the conference, but this season was over the top. Genuinely dangerous for players.
The players deserve to dictate who wins the game. I am all for this.

Watching Brian O'Connell call the Dayton game yesterday made me so glad
Mr High Knees has not officiated either of our first two games. Hopefully he never shows up.
Quality of the refs has been noticeable.
Great crew today. Roger Ayers is one of the few good refs I know the name of.
Usually I only know the awful refs by name!
Roger Ayers ref'd our game today and is a BE ref. Although, he seems to be the least of the ref issues during the BE season.
Ayers is usually terrific, both as to the calls and keeping the tenor of the game in check.
Such a contrast from ... well, you all know, I'm not going to let this great day be besmirched by references to incompetent idiots.

I agree with this. Providence beat the hell out of us in the Big East semi, which hurt us in the final. I'm probably wrong, but Oso hasn't looked quite right since.

Ayers is part of the BE-ACC co-op, but primarily works the ACC including their conference tournament.
Hey Val, hire some of these guys!
(I realize we've had Gaffney and Ayers so far.)
