I feel he deserves a thread. Tremendous, tremendous, performance from CR.
Absolutely!
Clutch shots and active defensively.
He's going to be really fun to watch next year as well

Different swagger from Chase after that thunderous flush in the 1H.
I think he grew today, right on the big stage!
Fantastic game !
5 for 6 from the field ... they don't win
w / out him
A nice bounceback after being non-existent Friday.
He had a couple of key defensive rebounds that looked like Colorado layups otherwise (at a time when losing the lead would have been a big psychological blow).
He's getting healthier and showed the explosiveness he had been missing.
He reclaimed his DUDE status today. Came up huge when we needed a spark.
Shaka said Chase was A Dude at the beginning of the season. So glad we saw that level of of play today
His play is exactly what they needed. Chase did not shrink under the bright lights.
Doooooooooood.
Ross had 12 points, 5 for 6 from field, 2 for 2 on threes, 4 rebounds, 2 steals and 2 blocks. Both blocks were insane, especially the one on Williams. Game of the year for him in the spotlight.
Absolutely a stellar performance Deserves his own thread Bravo! A great overall game Cy Chase and we absolutely needed it! Go Marquette!!!
Chase was f'n awesome. Don't win that game without him.
Ross outplayed a guy some are listing as the #1 overall NBA pick.
Ross was huge. In my opinion, he was the difference today. We needed someone to step up when Kam was out, and he more then stepped up, he shined.
Not to mention 2 huge blocks that wiped certain points off the board.
Ross was great today.
If he's 6' 6'' he's a superstar - but I love him just the way he is
Absolute baller. Without him, we lose. Simple as that
good call Muggs! absolutely!!

Great call Muggsy. He absolutely deserves huge props today. They needed everything he gave the team to pull this out.
Have always and love his potential.
Shaka had Chase in for defense over Stevie at one point at the end....that's amazing. His ability to get some key rebounds was huge...and then he came up huge on offense as well.
Overall...really liked how the team played today...but didn't play our best game.
-Kam was just dumb with his foul problems.
-Benny was a defensive liability.
-Oso was soft.
All three have the ability to play better and this team can keep rolling.
Appreciative of Shaka and the team...3 NCAAs in 3 years, BEAST championships, Sweet 16s...3 years ahead of what I thought was possible.

Hope Chase brings the hometown crowd within in Dallas!!
Chase had the Warrior mindset.
His contributions were invaluable.
I will say Chase had his best game of the year by far, hit the most important shot of the game and year. I was just impressed with his floater in the first half, which means he is learning what to do driving the lane. Bravo!
BC
He played big today and the floater was beautiful.
Ross was mvp of this game
Ross and Jop, even Ben, to win you need your secondary players to bring it, Jop hit 2 free throws, I can not remember the last time he did that! Awesome for him, he had a really good game but still makes foolish decisions at times.

That's not like you to be starting threads Willy-nilly
I expect big things from Ross in the next games. He gets the chance to play back at home in Dallas.
Chase was fantastic today. It takes a team effort. On Friday, Stevie stepped up. Today it was Chase.
Chase has not really played well since his injury. In particular, he sucked at finishing. He did hit some big 3's (big balls).
Today, it looked like he has put that behind him. Finished well with the floater and the jam. Played tight D without fouling. Had two great blocks that
were definitely going to be 4 points. And continued to hit 3's.
Hoping that he's put those so-so performances out of his mind and can continue to play like this into April.
The bench was huge today: 6-7; 3-3 (from 3). Both Ross and Gold with some big time 3s in the final minutes.
Really proud of and happy for Chase Ross.
Due to multiple injuries, it hasn't been an easy season for him. And I wouldn't be surprised if some doubt creeped into his mind. To be able to overcome all that and deliver his best game with so much on the line for the team ... just wonderful.
Can't wait to see Chase build even more on this in Dallas!

His hometown!
Chase usually drives me crazy, with 2 dumb plays for every great play he makes. But yesterday he was just great. He was fantastic in all aspects of the game.

Amen. I have criticized Chase for a lack of finishing around the rim this year in traffic. But more recently he has had a couple nice finishes and yesterday made the expected layups as well (not always easy giventhe big game scenario and the implications of missing). Health may be playing a role in this. I agree with another poster that he may be getting his hops back.
As a three and D player he will always be valuable. If he can finish around the hoop (aside from open dunks) he will be an outstanding player the next couple years.
Great overall game by Chase yesterday!
Like to see Chase pull up and take a 10 footer as he seems to be able to get by his defender but then runs into a big center which has been a problem for him all year long. Shaka does not believe in the mid range game at all, but at times you need it. I was happy to see Chase take in my mind his first floater and it went in! Lastly, needs to work this summer on his ability to try and use his right hand.

Right on. Chase played great. He looked confident, fearless and very athletic. The timing for him to peak couldn't be better. With his quick, scrappy defense and great offense, we can go all the way.

If you get stopped then someone else is probably open. You pass inside or you take a 3. That's just how college basketball works.
Considering Marquette shot 70% eFG, and had a 128.5 Ortg I'm going to say that what they're doing is
just fine.
Marquette will NEVER make it to the Sweet 16 until Shaka tells all of his guys to pull up for midrange jumpers.
Plus, practice free throws.
Big balls.

It may simply be getting healthy that is allowing him to peak. I actually hope that is the case because what we were hearing preseason did not necessarily jive with what we saw this season. Preseason banter was that he was going to make a huge jump.

Kids figure it out too. I've been impressed with Jops midyear jumps (seemingly overnight). Vander had some moments like that learning how to finish through contact. It happens.
You could tell Chase was on a different level on his very first finish on that fast break. He massively raised his game when he was needed most. Awesome to see.
I believe Chase will be the X factor in this historic run. I remember vividly the 1974 loss to NC State in the championship game played in Greensboro NC-essentially a home game for State with homer officiating. In all fairness, they had David Thompson who made the difference. We now have a similar talent with Thompson's slasher skill set and three point shot as well: Chase Ross!

Chase is David Thompson but with a three point shot? Wow.

I cannot
believe that you didn't mention rebounding. No way we make it to the Elite Eight without getting a LOT better at rebounding 82!

You may not know how good David Thompson was, he averaged 26.8 points and 7 to 8 rebounds a game. Not sure Chase is ever even close to those numbers!
Sorry, but I saw David Thompson play. He was amazing, and he did it night after night. I love Chase Ross, but let's not expect him to be David Thompson. But, excited to see Chase have his best game as a Warrior.
I see glimpses of Death Wade the way chase Ross plays. As a sophomore he hasn't been responsible for carrying the team. Next year look out.
