We'll play who we play and should beat either team, but as we saw today we can't assume that.
Based on matchup, what's the preference?
According to KenPom, Colorado has a much better defense. I know FL lost one of their best big guys.
For those who have watched more of both teams than me, any preference?
Any idea when game times are announced for the second round?

After all the games are done today.
Stetson
Both Florida and Colorado like to play at our tempo.
Florida. Both are good offensively, but Florida much more vulnerable defensively.
Florida's OR% is very good bit losing Handlogten levels the playing field quite a bit there.

That's nice.
Was gonna say Colorado. If the big guys is hurt maybe UF?
Marquette would turn over Colorado 20 times
Colorado, because it is where I got my second degree and now teach there (but, to be clear, I'll still be cheering for MU on Sunday!).
Both teams allergic to defense
If we bring our second half effort and execution on Sunday, it won't matter.
For me it's Florida. Give me the team who's best rebounder just broke him leg. Haven't had time to figure out new rotations/minutes

Both teams allergic to defense
This has been a shootout Howard. The defense hasn't been great but both teams have made shots. I think they said Florida averages 86ppg.
Florida is the kind of long athletic team that has given us problems. After 1st half I'm leaning the Buffs.
Both teams shooting well. Colorado has been hot of late. I'm leaning Florida
Are these teams this good on offense or do they just not play defense?
Very little defense

Colorado is 34th in AdjustedD, Florida 86th. Colorado is 98.2, Marquette is 95.7

Huh, I'm watching and the Buffs seem like the longer team to me.
Where can we get advanced stats in terms of how teams guard the PnR?
Just based on the eye test, MU would thrive putting Lampkin in PnR actions away from the basket. Slow as molasses
Both these teams are shooting the lights out. Worried about both.

They've been really good on the offensive end.

They do a lot of cutting on offense that I think our guys will feast on defensively. Stevie could have a big game. They'll get buckets but I think we could score 20-30 off turns

This.
But if given the choice, I'd take Colorado. Even without the one big, Florida really attacks the offensive boards. Put Stevie on Simpson, try not to leave Da Silva open and otherwise play straight up on D.
Plus Colorado would be playing their third game since Wednesday.
Either team will struggle to defend us if we're playing well at all offensively.
Ill take Colorado just because they are a lower seed.
Colorado, their coach will need a nap on Sunday. Plus this year's Pac 12 was weaker than the Missouri Valley.
They both look good today
Colorado has been incredible in this game. Hard to believe they needed to get to P-12 Final make the tournament.

But they haven't lost in the NCAA tournament.

Pac 12 hasn't lost.
67% 3pt fg for Colorado
How tall is Lampkin?
Florida, Alabama and Kentucky play some of the worst defense in the country.
Colorado it is. Hope their legs are tired on Sunday.
Colorado will be tough but wow, this Florida defense is a joke.
3 point game now .. let's hope it goes into 4OTs.
C'mon OT!
Wow
Neither team plays a lick of defense--that bodes well for us.
That clutch shot was stone cold
Wow, push off was close to a punch
Marquette is rolling Colorado.
Was hoping for a 6OT thriller
Wow.
Three double digit seeds in front of us--it's like a Wisconsin draw
In the department of over-analysis, I'd probably rather face the team that barely held off a comeback than one who completed a comeback.

Misspelled Nebraska
MU's path to the Elite 8 is a 15 seed, 10 seed and 11/14 seed.
Really no excuses.
I'm happy to face a Colorado team that will be playing their 3rd game in 5 days.
Colorado has perimeter players listed at 6'5, 6'7, 6'8, 6'8, 6'9. The 6'9 guy, da Silva, shoots 38% from 3, 16ppg. Don't think we've seen that type of size since UCLA or Kansas. Big wings like Kadary Richmond, AJ Storr, Scheierman have given us some problems, should be interesting.

Good, MU a lot quicker and blow by them, but probably a three point contest and try to limit their offensive boards.
Only thing I don't want to watch is Lampkin against Gold. Hope Ben is practicing falling backwards because that Lampkin is a big butt backerupper
Common opponent for Colorado is UCLA, they lost in Westwood.
Colorado is 21 in Ken Pom......closer to a 5 seed in quality than the 10 seed the committee gave them.

Porky concurs, despite MU Mark's astute comment about their relatively low seeding and first four status, which Porky also concurs with. Things are just much more competitive these days and the difference in quality between a 12/5 isn't significant in most cases. Look at Oakland/Yale. Anyone can beat anyone. Let's GO!
