Pretty choppy sound, but awesome nonetheless. Rant around the 3 minute mark on referees giving him a technical foul because they have been brainwashed. A classic!

Well after his amateur hour in ‘74, I can see why the refs gave him that technical

I once had tickets about three rows behind the bench and heard what Al was saying to the refs throughout the game. He's lucky he did not get T'd up more often.

There was a lot in there that was huge pent up frustration for Coach McGuire. Things boiled over that day, from the near blows between Bernard Toone and Coach McGuire at halftime, to the tense back-and-forth in the game and finally, to the technical foul. It was a very emotional game and it probably fueled Coach getting a lot off his chest. Not sure even Coach McGuire would agree that it was his finest moment.

A brother of mine compares it to a tape Les Grobstein at WLS-AM, Chicago, caught years later of Lee Elia going off on the Cubs and Cub fans.

Having seen a lot of what Coach McGuire was upset about, I get why he was screaming. Adolph Rupp hated Coach McGuire and Coach McGuire had a similar esteem for Coach Rupp. The backroom references made by Coach McGuire relate to what many think was going on with Coach Rupp and the way he viewed our Warriors.

The Ohio State game in Athens, GA, was particularly bad. A lot of Coach's technicals were for fighting for his guys and his team, which, given the obstacles they were up against in many parts of the country, was completely warranted.
