Quick update on where the S-Curve stands. Will be finishing things as the final results come in. The Bubble Red Wedding was brutal for the Big East, which stands at just 3 bids, while Marquette fell one spot on the S-Curve due to Iowa State moving up, but how high can the Cyclones climb?
Selection Sunday Morning (https://www.crackedsidewalks.com/2024/03/bracketology-selection-sunday-morning.html)
If you looked right away, I had the wrong screen grab. ISU up to #5 in the S-Curve in the new image.
I have a hard time seeing Indiana St. getting in over some of the first teams out.
Only 1 Q1 win and a Q4 loss doesn't do the trick for me - that's not enough.
Can Marquette be placed in UConn's region?
Yes ...
Between MU knocking out Nova
( andProv ) and the 4 bid thieves, the BE getting crushed.
Only 3 bids sucks, but
Now ... just hoping for favorable matchup in Rd 2. Gotta get to the S16
I would think that Iowa State's move up the seed list ahead of Marquette would make it likely that ISU would be placed in the Detroit region with Purdue, leaving Marquette in the region with Houston.
But, with 4 Big 12 and 4 SEC teams in the top 16, the requirement to keep four protected seeds from the same conference from being placed in the same region might preclude some of the higher seeds from being placed in the closest regions. The desire to maintain competitive balance in the regions based on the seed list might complicate things even further.
I'll leave it to the Committee's computer program to untangle that puzzle.
The main team I want out is MSU. They are so arrogant. Fans saying it was good for them to lose yesterday to keep them off the 8/9 line because they feel they can get to Sweet 16 as a 10 seed.
Argument against them is 0-5 in Q1 road games. Only 3 Q1 wins total with one being against #29 Indiana State. 14 losses in a weak B1G.
MSU might be headed for the First Four as a 10 seed. I hope they aren't in MU's region.

Agreed. Not that I don't have confidence we beat them, but they just simply don't deserve the Indy location or a non-dayton placement after such a crappy season.
Is there any evidence the committee avoids snubbing an entire conference? No matter the metrics, I have a hard time believing they're only going to select three Big East teams, even just for appearances.
Remind me - when should we expect to know game TIMES??

This is what happens when your conference has a couple of freeloaders at the bottom who, by being unable to win significant OOC games, drag down their BE brethren. Damn DePaul and Georgetown!
Maybe they think the name of the game is Crapsetball, judging from their performances.
Once again. Thanks Brew! Great work all season.

Last year I think they came out around 8PM. In some past years they were later.
Greg Gumbel passed away. He was the perfect voice of that special day every March. Sad day for College Basketball fans.

Known Marquette hater
RIP. Selection Sunday will be a little less special moving forward. I agree that his voice is synonymous with the bracket reveal.
Gumbel was ill this past spring and was not on the Selection Show.
