How did Trevor play today? How many minutes did he play?
Not great, but still a nice inside presence.
12 minutes
3 points on 1-1 from field, 1-2 from the line
1 def rebound
1 assist
2 TOs
2 PFs
But had several nice defensive stops. Altered a couple of shots. Also was fed the ball and kicked it back out a couple of times.
Had a nice dunk at the end...
A decent presence tonight, considering senior Byron Joynes is a BIG 6'9" and 265 lbs.
Today Hazel was the better rebounder. 2 rebounds to 1 in significantly less time. He was way up there for the last one. Today is the first time Hazel impressed me. He also had a break away drive that he smartly passed the ball off to someone else for a score. He made me think that he should have been getting more playing opportunities this season.
The ball just bounced Hazel's way, and good for him. Yeah, Hazel blocked some Rutger player's shot, dribbled up court, and then I THINK he dished it off to Blackledge for that monstrous dunk.
That was a very interesting line-up we had at the end...Blackledge, Mbakwe, and Hazel with two guards...I think Cubillan and Christopherson. Definitely would have been nice to see the two walk-ons get some playing time, but March is around the corner and we gotta get the guys that will actually play some PT.
That being said...Tommy Brice should start against Florida Gulf Coast!
The Trend dunk was fantabulous!! I TIVO'd the game and watched it 10 times, laughing our of control. I hope it ends up on You-Tube. Deserves to be on sports center. ;D

I agree on the Hazel comments - he looked comfortable out there today and was effective.
Mbakwe had a good defensive game I thought - he had some good stops, and his presences did indeed alter shots. I am surprised that his hands are not better - in each game he's been in he has bobbled the ball inside when it was pased to him. Probably just becuase he had not palyed much, and still needs to get used to who is doing what and what kinds of passes might be coming at him. But overall, I like the kid and I think he will help us.
