Title: Taking care of the Georgetown to do list.
Post by: tower912 on February 03, 2024, 02:52:54 PM
1.  Got the Hoyas down early?  Check.
2.  Stomped on their neck?  Check
3.  Obligatory complaints about everyone and everything in the game chat?  Check.
4.  Kam back?  Check.   Just a little.
5.  TKo making it look easy?  Check
6. The team continuing to hit 3's?  Check
7.  Getting Amadou run?  Check
8.  Honestly, it was so easy that there isn't a whole lot to say.   Total domination.
9.  A week off.   Get fully healthy.  Giddyup down the stretch.

Amadou can't guard.  Will be a liability in a big game

Saw Fielder play in Columbia last year. He was grabbing his teammates and yelling in their faces. Guy tries to be physical but this isn't high school ball anymore. He'll be annoying for 3 more years.

The freshman guard was stepping into shooters' landing zones all night. Chase got sick of it.

Get healthy and continue this run. Kam went nuclear and still looked hobbled.

Nice to get these wins versus Mr. Cooley and The Hoyas while they are down.

11. That was our Buy-in road game.
12. The Hoyas even made DePaul look good.

Nice tweet from Paint Touches.

Coming into this week Jolp had 5 assists for the entire season.

6 the past two games.

Jop has turned the corner.  I love it when he gets all hyped up after a big defensive play.

Great to have Kam back and finding his shot.

Things to work on and improve for next time:

Walk-ons 0-4 in their minute plus of time.
Amadou 3 fouls in 7 minutes

Silver with his great call on the game

"On paper MU should win this game, but it's been a strange year in college b-ball with tons of upsets. We crushed GTown in Milwaukee, but this could end up being a much tougher game. The Hoyas have enough talent to pull off the upset of the year so far in the BE."

Amadou won't be a liability in a big game.  He won.t be playing in a big game.  At least not this year.

I hope you heard the    WE ARE    MARQUETTE    cheers at the game. Sometimes the TV audio people seem to muffle things like that.

Had a great time. That bobble early in the second half with both teams fumbling the ball under the basket, followed by another MU basket, was really comical.

Someone thought that?  It must have been during a moment of frustration in the Butler loss.

I enjoyed watching the second team get extended run together.  You could see them thinking and not just reacting.  But that is ok.   Part of the process.

Tower, did you write for Classic Comics? Your summaries are generally spot-on.

That group would have given Georgetown a game. Nice to see the depth on full display.

I think tower previously said he used to write for the Marquette Tribune as a student, but I'll be curious to know if I remembered correctly.

Thank you, mkn72.   And J-school, but I was WMUR, not the Tribune.

Sims was awful as PbP.
Misidentification of players throughout the game.
How many times did he say Kam got his bell rung with a knee to the head in MU's last game 1 or 2 minutes before or after saying he was out of the lineup completely for the Nova game... MU last one?

Lazy
