Georgetown is improving. We waxed them the first time and through their 0-3 Big East start, they were #174 per T-Rank. But despite being just 1-5 since (win over DePaul), they are #135 in T-Rank since then and they played competitively with Seton Hall, Xavier, and Providence.

This should be a comfortable win, but they are playing better than they were when we saw them last and even on a weekend it will probably be a sleepy environment. Need to put the pedal to the metal early, if we let them hang around maybe they finish the kind of effort that saw them get close against tourney contenders multiple times in the past month.

When I say things like this some prolific posters go bonkers and cry COLE.

"Don't let them hang around" is my theme for the day. DePaul and Georgetown get lumped together, but Georgetown is demonstrably less terrible.

Shaka has to be pissed we are overlooking this game. Going to take some extra effort from him to get us back on track.

We as fans are good at panicking or making mountains out of molehills. I think it's more likely we win by 20+ than single digits, and if we play like we have of late, we win comfortably no matter what they do. But as we saw with Butler, the chance of us having a crap game and an inferior opponent playing out of their mind is possible.

Yes, losing to Georgetown is possible. I go in choosing to think that we'll play well and that we'll cover against a team that isn't anywhere near as good as we are.

If we lose, I'm confident that it wasn't because optimistic fans thought we'd play well ... but I'm willing to listen to a scientific explanation that proves otherwise.

I'll do i the opposite and give the scientific explanation for why people are superstitious:

Our brains evolved to look for patterns.  By understanding the patterns of the world around us, it increases our chance for survival.

However, our brain will find patterns even when they're not there. So when our favorite sports team loses, we assign some action as the cause even though no causal relationship exists.

I think some of us still have some residue scar tissue from the Wojo era.  😊

QuoteKam Jones is out warming up in his Marquette jersey at Capital One Arena.

That sounds like good news to me.

I don't know if he's playing but the tweet said he's warming up in his jersey so that seems more positive than negative to me.
