I'm always concerned. We better be out of our funk.
We're minus one due to Covid, but four of us are planning to be there.

I'm thinking 30-point win tonight, though. Shaka will have 'em focused.

I'm surprised that no one has yet used that meaningful phrase "trap game." Saturday's game hosting Seton Hall looms large and is an important means to get back into the running for the regular season championship. Tonight should, in theory, be a good ol' a** whuppin'. But, us scoopers really could mess things up if we look past Depaul and towards Seton Hall.

I've got a bad feeling about tonight. I think in a lot of ways it is a trap game. Our fans filling their arena always seems to pump DePaul up more than us, first game with a new coach, players needing to impress for the next guy... I think DePaul comes out really fired up. On top of that, we haven't exactly set the world on fire traditionally at their place and another 5-31 from 3 pt night is not out of the question for us. Still think we win going away, but I wouldn't be surprised if it takes us 30 minutes or more of game time to take control. If they weren't as epically bad as they are, I'd really be worried.

A lot of games won going away are choppy for 25-30 minutes.
Does anyone know if they fly in for this game? I've often wondered if they do and if the jet lag, even of a 30min flight, is worth it compared to a 1-2 hour bus ride... or Amtrak ride.
I expect MU to be comfortably covering the spread...and then the walk ons to be -10 in 2 minutes to make all bettors sweat.

I thought that but also what a wild 48 hours for DePaul. A lot of their roster only came to DePaul because of Stubblefield. MU is a team that requires a solid defensive game plan to stop. Did they put one in place? DePaul hasn't had much time for the news to sink in and regroup.

Jet lag can also be attributed to dehydration from flying and missing meals as the whole process interrupts standard schedules. Don't know why you needed to respond so snarky to an innocuous question.

Flying dehydrates you that's pretty factual, I imagine you're able to type in a google search for that proof. As far as meals, Idk about you but between packing, getting to airport, flying, getting out of airport, getting to hotel usually causes me to screw up my routine.
Again seems like you just want to pick an argument for no reason when a "they take the bus" could've sufficed.

The thing I would say is that they aren't travelling like the majority of people. They charter their flights. They're picked up at their front door, dropped off right near the plane, getting meals and drinks on the flights, etc.
Plus, the time to bus down to Chicago vs. fly (even chartering the flight) down to Chicago and then bus from the airport to the hotel would hardly be any different.

It makes little sense to fly from a time standpoint. Though I can see the value of flying if it keeps the team in a consistent routine as far as BigEast roadtrips go. I believe they typically fly one day before then travel home after the game (could be wrong). I recall under Buzz(?) they stayed in a hotel the night before home games so sometimes routine trumps practicality.
I'd be shocked if they didn't just bus.
I'd love to be on the Amtrak and see the team there as well though...
Wojo literally asked me at the Chicago bball gathering one year where Wintrust was in relation to downtown. Can't remember if Wintrust was new or if he was new, as I don't remember when Wintrust opened.

There have been bad feelings coming out of a lot of games at DePaul over the last 10-15 years. There are probably not many BE teams that the Demons have beaten more often. They seem to be inspired by having people watch them, even if most of them are rooting for the opponents.
This DePaul team has got to be one of the worst conference teams since MU joined. Just put them away early and don't let them think they have a chance.

By wins, you are correct - but they've played Marquette a ton (123 times, vs ND at #2 with 93). In fact 44 wins against MU is their most vs. any opponent since 1950. But by DePaul winning %, Xavier (.387) and St, John's (.383) have been worse than MU (.358). Creighton is right behind at .350. Again those are DePaul's winning percentage numbers, just to be confusing.

I was referring to Big East teams in Big East conference games. I think MU has lost 5 of its last 12 at DePaul going back to the 09-10 season. Considering how bad most of those Demon teams have been, that's a pretty appalling record.
