Was at the Butler game. Soooo many missed shots...at the rim. And the bricked threes. Fuggly.
Today, a different team showed up. The layups spun in, Kam's three fell, and Jolp didn't fall over once...nice, well rounded game for him. He looked "different" tonight. The two man game with Kolek and Oso was pretty. Individually, they were great in their own way.
Johnnies will be very tough. Slick Rick is a tough customer. Like him or not, he knows the game. Hope tonight's team (I recorded it and watched after work) is in the Garden on Sat.
BTW, we won because of Doc Blackheart's cameo on national tv in the middle of DWade's presentation.

With a beer toast or so I have been texted. It takes a chug to absorb crappy BE officiating.

Good summary and I agree that Saturday is no walk in the park. IMO, the win on Saturday would balance out the Butler loss to some degree. I actually think a win a SJ would be a bigger notch in the positive column than the Butler loss was to the negative column.
Need to watch the replay of the game and catch the Dr. B cameo. Love the fact he gave a beer toast. I saw in another thread he mentioned Bingo's on Center and that made me smile, but beer toast on national TV is a big time move in my book.
We saw the MU team that can dismantle teams when we play our game yesterday. That's not just our top 3 doing their thing, but Stevie being ubiquitous on D, valuing the basketball (3 turns doesn't suck) and other guys making solid contributions. Obviously Jop and Ben can shoot better, the 3 ball has not been good in general this season, and Sean and Chase being out blows. But we still have a very formidable group led by Tyko that is quite capable of getting back to the top of the BEast conf.
When the Big 3 are on and we play as a team (which we really saw in the last 10 minutes of the game, after they tied it at 57) we are incredibly difficult to beat. That's how we were playing for the better part of 6 weeks up until St. Thomas. Hopefully we recapture that level of play. The team we were and can be is a national title and Final Four contender. The team we've been for the past month is...well...not that.

The layups spun in
Glad I wasn't the only one to notice this.
In the Butler game, we had so many close-range shots that didn't quite go in after flirting with the basket. In this game, most of our close-range shots fell through after dancing on the rim. Just a weird happenstance, I guess, but I sure hope for more of the latter going forward!

I blurted out "we got lucky on that one" several times in the game. A basketball spinning around the perimeter of the hoop and sometimes even going
almost down before popping back out seems to defy the laws of physics.

What is MUBB record when D Wade in attendance?
Maybe that is the key.
