Just wondering has anybody heard how he is practicing with the team? Is he as raw as Amadeau or potential to start next year? Or is Parham the best of the group at center?
Gold is going to start my dude

So you want a starting 5 being Gold, Mitchell and Joplin, that would be in my mind pretty weak frontcourt! Backcourt Norman (portal player) and Cam. Cam will have to score 30 a game for that lineup to win!

That's a big jump of 29 PPG for Cam. Tall order.

And you think that lineup would just randomly be great with Hamilton??
I'm hoping at least one of the two freshman are good enough to start next year, assuming two of Oso, Kolek, and Kam are gone.
Or a portal addition.

Yep, you got it. In addition to Cam, we'll have Bernie, Stephano, Jolp and Neuman.
I be surprised if Hamiton is ahead of Amadou.

I get such a kick out of Jolp, makes me pause and smile. I said Jolp in real life the other day to my son, and he was like what the hell. Good stuff

I'll put a positive spin on this that Amadou looks sooooo good that no matter how stout Hamilton looks, AL is just too strong to surpass. 2024 frontcourt will be scary good.

If Cam is a starter next year MU is doomed

Shaka did say Hamilton's trajectory is a rocket ship.
His comments in general make me think we could have a Joel Embiid type player on our hands. Shaka did not shy away from creating expectations.

Embiid went from not playing basketball at 15 to the number 13 player in his senior class to the number 3 pick after his freshman year of college. Hamilton is currently redshirting during his freshman year of college.
If Caedin is a Joel type player, Shaka is crazy for redshirting him.

Shaka thought a few other players could play, there gone. As a coach, that is exactly what I would say, the eye test from somebody outside the program is better

Comparing a 3-star who had offers from UC Riverside, Drexel and Northeastern to a future HoF'er sounds reasonable.
I'll be happy if he can give us a solid 10-15 MPG off the bench next season.

Same here. Ben will get in foul trouble an awful lot, so we need a couple guys to give us minutes.
Shaka also said Joplin would lead the big East in scoring........coaches say lots of things.
Trashing a kid no one has seen play. Pathetic.

Who has trashed him?
People not thinking he should be compared to Embiid is somehow trashing him?
Really?
I'm excited to see what he brings to the table........I'll keep my expectations in check which seems prudent.

He could next season, it's not completely out of the equation.
Team would have to be pretty bad though.
If Kam leaves I could see him being Marquettes leading scorer if he continues to develop.
There would be a lot of shots to be had if Kam and TyKo move on, since the rest of the guys would probably be pretty tentative.

I am hoping he can play some defense and rebound a little bit, if not Parham better be ready as I for one do not see Gold as a 30 minute center, hope I am wrong

Kam isn't going anywhere. Can we just stop this?

Neither was Vander Blue, hey?
A couple of years ago Shaka said some wild projections about Oso and he proved them right. No idea what Hamilton will be as a player, but Shaka has long record of finding and developing players. That is why I find comparing to Gard thread to be comical. Shaka had multiple top ten recruiting classes at Texas and has put a lot of guys in the NBA.

Both coaches recruit to there needs, Gard barely recruits kids that go the next level, Storr is the exception, and wants to keep kids 5 years. Both recruit kids believing in development. But Gard went to the portal last year, made there team, Shaka should have!

And especially with bigs. He put one in the NBA every year at Texas and its starting here with Omax and now Oso.

Vander hated school.........Kam on the other hand has mentioned on numerous occasions that he isn't in a rush and it would have to a no brainer(I'm.paraphrasing) for him to declare early.
Loves Shaka and by all accounts love's Marquette......don't see him leaving.

There is a lot of basketball yet to be played. You have watched this game longer than me and you know a lot can happen for both teams before the season ends. I'm going to let things play out before saying UW did a better job during the offseason.

I know Oso was a Wojo recruit, but did Wojo also recruit Omax via the portal from Clemson, or was that Shaka?
