From the Coaches mouth.
New season begins on Monday.
Back to the drawing board, Marquette's got this.
Yes
Maybe we're having our January slump like UConn did last year.
I doubt we finish like they did, but it's nice to dream.

Except when it's a nightmare which is what it feels like currently

If Shaka can get the starters to play like we have seen them earlier this year. There's still a good chance.
If we're relying on backups or newcomers to fill the gap, well, every team except for DePaul has an advantage.

Yes and in 2011, UCONN was 9-9 in the Big East and had to run the table in the BET to get into the Big Dance (which they then won)
That same year, a guy named Shaka took his 11th seeded VCU team to the Final Four
Last year, a team picked 9th in the Big East won the Big East regular season and BET and then laid an egg in Round 2
College basketball = parity. Several teams are good enough to win it all. It really comes down to how a team is gelling and who has the hot hand and the right time.
I'd just like to see the team play somewhat together. Lately it's just been a bunch of dribbling and iso ball.
Shaka needs some self-reflection. Hubris needs a vacation.

Can you elaborate Dr. B? I think Shaka has been pretty forthright in his last 2 pressers. What hubris are you talking about? The non-transfer culture stuff?

Yeah I didn't get much hubris from that presser.

Sarcasm. Some wild Scoop takes post-game.

Yeah, it did look like there was a lot of that, but had we made some (any!) shots, we would have had a LOT of assists last night. You can't get an assist if the guy you pass to misses an open shot.

Thus team is having more than a slump. More like a dump.

Ahhhh.....sorry Dr. B. I've been a bit fixated on the disaster that occurred and didn't anticipate other methods of venting.

My fault to troll postgame. :)
100%
The conspiracy theorist in me thinks this slump be facilitated by the coaching staff so instead of fizzling out in February/March we can evolve in January/February.
I have NO idea how a coaching staff facilitates 2 of 30 3pt shooting, or 2 major role player injuries but maybe a January skid is just what Tyler and Oso need to regroup and lead us to greener pastures come March.
Trying to stay optimistic!

No problem. I was beyond upset last night but feel a little better now. Early this morning I watched some 🐙 escape videos which relaxed me a bit. I think we can get out of this funk Dr. B.

It's unfortunate so many species love 🐙 🐙 🐙. They're not endangered but have short lives. Their badassery is pretty much incalculable on so many levels.
