Great listen above^. Who steps up... Jop, Ross, a committee? Have to agree we feel "a guy short" right now.

Every team is a guy short.

We blew out #2 Kansas.
If not for foul trouble (Oso) we beat #1 Purdue.

Look at the lineup for every top 10 team and you can see where they need another guy.

I think Shaka is happy to go to war with the guys that he has.

Yep. There are zero "complete" teams. We absolutely can win the championship.

Shaka rightfully put faith in Jop. He's been here from the beginning and was 6th man of the year. Unfortunately his numbers have dropped this year, even with the added minutes. Stevie is having some shooting regression as well.

Still a lot of ball to be played. I just thought I share some third party perspective.

Still extremely impressed with our coach and love this team. Never thought we'd be talking about a "missing piece" to a national champ contender 3 years into the Shaka era.

Now this is level-headed commentary.

Agreed.....and thanks for posting. My commentary were for those scoopers who pined last off season and future off seasons of the hottest transfer.....

It is true that every team is imperfect. There do not appear to be any super teams this year that just automatically get to the Final Four (with the possible exception of Purdue). Every team has its flaws and the competition is fierce.

Very few teams have all of the pieces in college basketball these days. I will take MU's chances on FF along with whole slew of other teams. MU has enough in place to win a natty and so does 15+ other teams. That said, I give an edge to MU for the experience on the team and the best PG in America. Those two things can hide a lot of blemishes.

Purdue lost to a mediocre Northwestern team.

Purdue almost lost to Marquette, even though our guys played like crapola for more than a half.

Not a super team. Will lose several Big84 games. Could lose early in the NCAA tournament, though probably not as early as last year's "great" Purdue team did.

There are zero teams who couldn't use one more piece this season, just as there weren't last season. There are zero slam-dunk teams for the 2024 Final Four, let alone the national title.

Tower, we're on the same page! This is the link i shared in my initial post. I like the third party perspective, and hoping Jop, Chase, and/or Sean Jones become the piece they're referencing.

At this point it is legit talking points to discuss. A lot of basketball yet to be played. IMO, these talking points will flip flop several times between now and March.

Then let's discuss!

Q1: who has the most BALANCED starting line up (i.e., front court and back court)?
Q2: who has the next BEST 3, off the bench (i.e., 6, 7,8 man rotation)

I was told chase was NBA bound and our eFG% would improve

Golden

I am referring to the talking heads flipping on MU being a man short over the next two months. We will find out in March if they were a man short.

After we win the NCAA championship game, will you be still be whining about the loss to Madison while "One Shining Moment" is playing?
