100%
He is often on the court when the ball is at the other end... he is 1-2 feet on the court. It really is not allowed and he could get called on it. Putting a foot on the floor when the opponents are driving to the corner is definitely not allowed, but until they call him on it he will keep doing it.
Go Shaka. Go Marquette!
I hope he continues to piss every opposing fanbase off. Keep up the good work!

Let Buzz know of this also.
He literally was on the court playing defense in that clip. Love Shaka
Cooley is the king of being on the court - nobody's ever called him on it.
Not a big deal.
Creighton's biggest problem is not the opposing coach waving his arms on the sideline, it is lack of depth. Outside of 3-4 players they dont have much. Guys like Ashworth and Farabello cant defend Big East guards. Thats a problem.

Yea, I'm pretty sure he threw his hands in the air any time we had a guy shooting near him. I don't like it, but it seems to be the norm.
This reminds me when Buzz tripped (I think at Nova) and fell backward knocking over his Chicklets cup. Got T'ed up because the ref thought Buzz was showing him up.

Yes, but Marquette has a top-10 defense. They're currently 9th in KenPom. The offense has to be better but scoring against Marquette is going to be a problem for teams unless they create a lot of second chances, ala Purdue and UW-Madison. Last year, an elite offense carried Marquette for a good chunk of the season. This year, it's going to be the defense

That's because our coach gets to play defense, too.
Wow. On a 10 reason explanation as to why Creighton lost the game, that ranks like 15th. C'mon BlueJay fans.
I hope Shaka sets a screen for Kolek in the second half of our game at Seton Hall.

I agree but Creighton had some good looks in the first half. But Marquette's defense was next level elite in the second half.
I have no doubt it's intentional by Shaka and it's definitely some gamesmanship on his part. I would hate it if another coach did it, but I hope Shaka continues as long as he can keep avoiding it being called on him.

In all honesty, Shaka does get a bit carried away on the sideline. When an opponent is shooting near the sideline, he needs to watch it. But, you have to love the energy.

In a game filled with cheaters and a$$ holes....finding a reason to not like Shaka seems pointless. We are so fortunate to have him. Who would have thought a few years ago that we'd be finding ways to question a coach who made us relevant from day 1 and put us in the top 10 in year 3...with a program that does it the right way.
I can't wait for the Omaha rematch.

When he gets called for it, he'll tone it down (and even then probably only temporarily). Until that happens, he'll be himself. And thank goodness for that.

Actually, he was a few times. When Al threw his jacket on the court in a DePaul game, a ref told Al he would be Td up when he went to get his coat, Sl sent one of his players to get it.
Al was on the court. About as much as Shaka!
The reaction to this is so over the top.
If you watch for it, the coaches are on the court all the time, and every once in a while, they kind of get in the way. The referees could have (and maybe should have) warned Shaka, and if they had called a technical, it would have been warranted.
It's not even clear that the ball handler reversed the ball because Shaka was there so the impact on the play was somewhere between negligible and nonexistent

Yes, many coaches do this, and players often do things that could get them T'd up as well—but refs are generally going to let that stuff go unless it gets excessive (which, frankly, it may have been here) and/or they have another reason to be pissed with them.
The only difference is that Shaka does it with such energy that it stands out from the norm. That enthusiasm and ability to be himself is what makes him so good and the team ready to do everything he asks. If he ends up getting T'd up for it occasionally, oh well, worth the price.

Shaka's defensive technique is textbook----moves his feet well, never let's his man beat him to the spot. Would like to see him a little more involved offensively, though. A sideline pick with Kolek handling the ball could open up a lot of possibilities.
It is like watching Stevie Mitchell with middle age hair.

Great stuff.
What Shaka did was a violation and he should have been T'd up. He wasn't T'd up, so he didn't stop. Maybe next game, he'll get T'd up, and he'll tone it down. Or maybe not.
When I was a (mediocre) player, I would camp in the effen lane until I got called for a 3-second violation. I maybe got called for it 3 times in my life. It wasn't my job to get out of the lane, it was the refs' job to enforce the rules. Same principle here.
But it is fun listening to Creighton fans whine like terrible 2s.
As for Sam Effen Dekker: Shaddup and dribble ... off your own face!
I think Dekker is just building his resume for his future Madison mid-day sports talk radio show.
McBuckets needed to be T'd at 43 the seconds to go foul on Alexander. Can we get a video recap of that coach action and blast it on social media like the BJ whiners? McDermott and their fans were whining like a two bit hooker last year when MU beat them in Omaha and Shaka did his sideline jump after they were heckling him. A bunch of Marquette fans who hate on Wisconsin is getting mad because a former Madison player is hating on Marquette. Somewhat ironic.
Dekker's opinion is as irrelevant as college football's season.
His opinion on this subject is an accurate one, though.
Dekker can't let go of the fact that Buzz did not recruit him in high school. He must sit in a closet with Brust and talk about what sassy things they can say about MU on their Twitter accounts.
