Todays attendance at FF was 18,086. Attendance has been strong all season. Also the crowd was loud , could hear it on the broadcast. This is a real asset for the team.
All thanks go to the much improved mu marketing team

Was a good crowd and the Student for a da6 sections were pretty full. I wish we cou"d put a decibel reader on the Courtside so we can see the noise on the jumbo screen and get the fans to go louder and louder to pin the meter. I think it would work. Someone should do it!

Which was a new record.
The Weekend Fans are entitled.
If they are going by ticket sales, I can't help but wonder if they counted some of the student section twice. Once for the student ticket, and again for "Be a Student" tickets.

DePaul and Georgetown seem to have found some creative ways to umm, "increase" their attendance numbers, so I see no reason we shouldn't do likewise. Works for me.
Definitely could hear the crowd on TV. They absolutely influenced the outcome. Great job!
Great atmosphere to let Parham and Owens what to expect next year.

That makes sense. Looking up to the upper deck, it wasn't full. Lots of seats filled, but probably 80% upstairs, and I don't remember any SRO tickets being sold, which we did for NMD last year as I recall.
It was a great game to be at.
The crowd was electric, and we got up and after it on several occasions.
Credit to the players and Shaka for that. Kam, especially, prompted us to get loud several times.
When it comes to EGBs, getting the crowd into it is one of the biggest ones.
That record should be broken on 2/10.

I do not believe the student ticket package includes winter break.

Can confirm student package includes winter games - I bought a few student section seats from a student for family yesterday.
I have 2 daughters who are student season ticket holders......they are included.

The "Be a Student" package assumes that even though a student package includes winter break games, a significant number of students won't be around to attend them.
That is why your ticket reverts to a "standing room only" ticket if the student section is full. They wouldn't need to put that clause in if the student package does not include those games.
Really, "attendance" should require.... Attendance. Count the number of tickets scanned entering the forum.

That's not how it's done anywhere.

18,086 speaks well for the Marquette fan base.

Hmm...I always gave my tickets to someone who wanted to go to a game while I was away on break; but then the tickets were only 50 cents each. The tickets were also reserved seats. A different time I guess.

I bought Be a Student tics. MU sent an email noting that if they ran out of seating in student section (implying, but not stating that they were oversold), you would be standing room only

Yes, 1,000 years ago was a different time. No guessing necessary.
For what it's worth Winter break tickets were included from 09-14. I guess that was a decade ago but can't imagine it changed

In this thread, Tower?? Did you read the hotly contested Creighton SOTG thread? This is nothing, they're going to count attendance the way they're going to count attendance.

The required way to count attendance.

Of course they were oversold. The student section was sold out to begin with. 100% of the "Be a Student" tickets are for seats that belong to other people. Marquette is just assuming a certain percentage of them won't show up over winter break.

Fraud alert - mu marketing department???
I was looking at SH tickets last night on MU's ticketing website. There's only random single seats left and available throughout the arena. I went to StubHub and there's not a ton there either. Granted I needed 8 seats together. But we should have another sell out on our hands on the 27th.

"Sell Out" is a relative term, hey? Uppers closed
Snoop Doog....what a sell out
Seton Hall was a part of one of the mini plans that contained ND, Creighton and UConn. So a fairly strong group of teams led to a Seton Hall almost sellout.
