Title: Cbs

Anyone else having technical issues? Almost unwatchable

Appears to be a spectrum issue

If MU plays on CBS again, I'm going to have to buy an antenna.  I can't watch another game like that.  It was mentally taxing trying to figure out if the signal jumped ahead 5 seconds or back 5 seconds in live action.

Only channel that I am having issues with. Hate spectrum but don't think this is on them.

Someone at Spectrum must have pissed off someone at CBS because I also have no issues with any other channel and apparently every other feed outside of Spectrum didn't have an issue

FWIW, I watched it online via the CBS Sports website. The video was fine, but the audio cutout for a couple of extended periods.

The same.  I did not have the problems with the audio feed because I was listening to Homer and Tony.  That cut out late in the game for some reason and I did not bother to get it back, going with the TV audio.  It cut out once.

I have Spectrum and had problems too.  It was a little hard to watch at times. Skipped right past Mitchell's three after halftime.

Is there anyone who had problems that isn't a Spectrum customer?

I was getting messages from my daughter during the game about how bad the signal was. I often record games that I attend so I can watch parts of it after the game if I feel like it, so I did watch this one and I have never seen that kind of pixelating, pausing, and then skipping ahead like on that telecast.

But, I have had somewhat similar problems on spectrum with the local channels with the picture suddenly freezing, and then starting up again, so I suspect it has something to do with how  Spectrum in the area is handling the local network channels.

I've thought seriously about that. Have tried it, but I'm a big channel surfer and moving between channels seems a little more involved on YTTV.

You can arrange the channels in whatever order you wish. I find it quite convenient. My only beef w YTTV has been price increases

Also, as long as you have the privacy settings done correctly, with just a push of the down arrow you can see the last several channels you've viewed. Rather than just a "last channel" button, you basically have a pretty accessible "last 5-10 channels" button.

That was my heyday, and I don't ever remember seeing Mario Bros in a standup cabinet in an arcade. I didn't think it even existed in that form until a few years ago.

That said, easiest 80's video games to identify if you walked into the arcade with your eyes closed:

1. Pac-man
2. Centipede
3. Donkey Kong
4. Joust
5. Pole Position

Mario Brothers definitely was a stand up arcade game. I worked in high school at Chuck-E-Cheese and the line to use it was always long. This would have been 1984-86.

Yessir! Had to use the comb/pen trick to get super speed. Add in Ms PAC Man, Galaga, Turbo, and Breakout, and I'm in. Honorable mention to Frogger, Tron, and Missle Command.

Double Dragon absolutely deserves to be in the conversation. Fantastic game, but the three-dimensional movement felt so transformational at the time. Awesome game and paved the way for both the beat-em-up and fighting games that dominated the 90s like TMNT, X-Men, Street Fighter II, and Mortal Kombat.

Most definitely was a stand up game. For us growing up it was Showbiz Pizza where we would play Pitfall. We also had PinPan Alley and would spend hours playing the aforementioned Gauntlet. I was always the elf.

Great call. I put a lot of quarters into Gauntlet marathons. I think "Red Warrior...is about to die" will forever be etched in the memories of anyone that played it.

This was the progression in video games for me:

Pong
Space Invaders
Asteroids
Missle Command
Pac-Man
Donkey Kong
Galaga
Ms. Pac-Man

I do remember playing a lot of Arkanoid in the arcade at MU freshman year.  That game was like Breakout and a shooting game combined.

Ms. Pac-Man had varied course designs, the bonus fruit would march around instead of being stationary, and it was faster. A friend said that the ghosts were less predictable as well.
