Pretty incredible program standing in just over 2 seasons of work from Shaka.
MU is doomed.
Has the number of season tickets been announced?

I don't believe so, but Shaka hinted at this being close in a recent interview .

Announced attendance for Southern was 13,607. Take 2500 student seats off the top and that's roughly the number.

I think they might count pack holders as STHs too. Don't think Southern was a pack game IIRC.
A co-worker also works at Fiserve on game days. He stated there were 8000 in the building for Southern.
I called the other day asking for game tape from Europe and I ended up buying a mini pack. I might be part of the problem rather than the solution.

E-mail says "8,600+"...whatever that means.

My guess is it means they've sold over eight thousand six hundred season tickets.

(checks math) I think you're right.
Imagine what the STH number would be if the Wojo years never happened.
That 8600 does not include students (3k or so) and does not include mini plans.

Who knows? Maybe the Wojo years would not have happened because Coach Shaka came and then went.
Leaving aint happening now!
What's amazing was Marquette was struggling with season ticketholder interest just three short years ago.
And now....

This is correct and when MU planned for their own stadium, they only were going to make it 12k seats due to the lack of interest.

It worked out as it should have. Both parties (MU and Shaka) needed to experience what they did to appreciate what they have now.
A 13K seat arena on campus would be awesome. That's the perfect size for major college basketball programs to play in.
Where? And how much? And infrastructure? And what else would you use it for? And would Milwaukee support a third arena?

Agree with all of this. The arena MU was looking at was around $100M give or take and was going to be built where the new soccer stadium is going (Iron District). The architects were the same ones who designed Cintas (Xavier bb). I saw a rendering and it looked pretty cool. That being said, I love Fiserv and want MUBB to play there for the foreseeable future.

...and perhaps most importantly....would they sell beer?

Kohl center is selling beer for the first time this year, so I would sure hope so!
Shaka sees FiFo as an asset for recruiting and he has from day one. Every visiting team and their fans love the venue.
Under Wojo, it was seen as a cost liability and MU needed to build a Cameron North on campus (3 blocks away). Opening presser to judge.
