Question:
Will we get court stormed this year?
Option 1: Yes
votes: 46
Option 2: No, we won't be ranked high enough to warrant it
votes: 7
Option 3: No, because you have to lose to get court stormed
votes: 60
Joe and Phil mentioned this on Scrambled Eggs this week and it got me wondering...will we get court stormed?
If we lose at Wisconsin, Providence, Butler, Seton Hall, or Xavier, I'm sure the answer is yes.
If we lose at UConn, Villanova, or Creighton, they might have too much pride or be ranked to highly to really warrant it.
If we lose at St. John's, I think security would shut it down (Knicks play the Raptors later that night).
If we lose at DePaul or Georgetown, I'm not sure security will even notice the 7 fans who make it to the floor.
So what say you? Will we be court stormed, or will we win all our road games and make it a moot point?
Shaka's worst losses have been in tournaments. St. Bonaventure, Mississippi St, Sparty. At some point this season, having a home dog play up while MU has a bad game is certainly possible. So, yeah, I can see it.
The only thing more surprising than a surprising loss would be if we don't suffer a surprising loss.
So yeah, probably.
I'm just worried about Saturday. Some Badger fans practiced storming in January 2021.

Bravo
Nah, act like you've been here before. Ain't no big thang, aina?
I now kind of want to lose on Saturday to see them storm...and then deny they care about us.

That is what my guy Jimmy Brown used to say, when asked why he didn't spike balls after touchdowns

Yeah, no. I'd rather MU just send their crowd heading to the exits early.

Wisconsin fans will not storm the court if the happen to win the game on Saturday.
I have said this before and I'll say it again:
WE ARE MARQUETTE!!!
We don't storm courts. We storm Avenues after we win national titles.
The only court I expect we will storm will be in the Phoenix area in April after we win on a Monday night!!!!!!

I would put the yes at -150.
The Madistoners are desperate for a court storming.
Uhhh ...
The OP / question was about OTHER fan bases storming Ct if they beat MU.
It's Not a discussion of MU fans storming any courts. ::)

I love your optimisim! but you say this like we're a blue blood that has won multiple national championships over the past few years. hasn't Wisc. ave only been "stormed" twice?

Actually I know of one other time in '67 when MU won the semi final game in the NIT to move on to the championship. I know. I was there. ;)
Hypothetical question....if the Kansas game was in Milwaukee would MU fans have stormed the court after the win?

I was there in the rain the night we stormed Wisconsin Avenue in 1977. Best party ever.
I fully expect to be part of the old foggies, along with Real Chili, Newsdreams, Doc and Goose, among others, who are screaming their lungs out court side as Tyler pulls out the switchblade to make the first cut on the net in Phoenix in April!
Until then, we have work to do. No court storming!

Doubtful
We should beat UW tomorrow, but it's not a given at all.
Lose, and MU is a 2-loss team and drops out of the top 10 and will need weeks for other teams to chalk up their 1-2-3rd loss.

We haven't won multiple national championships over
all the years. Unfortunately.

What is inaccurate in his post? MU should win. If MU loses, they will fall in the ranking.

That it would take weeks to move up again
He is right about that, too. That is the way of it.
We stormed the Avenue in 1994 after beating UK to make the S16.
If you survived the depths of Dukiet, you know that W was akin to winning a Natty,

I guess even indoor climate controlled Basketball arenas are subject to climate change with court storming.
This whole thread is COLE. Let's have a poll instead about how many times we will make opposing teams' fans cry.
*looking around nervously*

There you have it. Wisconsin has won their 2023-2024 Super Bowl.
So, yes, there will be court storms

I got so many texts from Badgers fans who were disgusted by the storm. My old business partner said it made him wish they lost.

That and the bitching about the refs has been some real loser behavior from MU fans today. Sometimes you just gotta take the medicine and shut it.

Top 5 team beaten by a team that's not even receiving votes. That's a court storm 100% of the time in the past ten or so years

Then why did you predict they wouldn't storm?
It's not even close to the weakest court storm of the past week, let alone ever.
I was bored tonight but looking through old games. UW was higher ranked in 2004, 2008, and 2018 when they lost to MU in Milwaukee. There was never a court storm.

What?
Using the AP Poll...
Dec 7, 2004: UR Marquette defeats #24 Wisconsin
Dec 1, 2008: #25 Marquette defeats UR Wisconsin
Dec 3, 2018: UR Marquette defeats #12 Wisconsin
Those dates are the poll dates the week of the game, not the game dates. None are exactly storm worthy, unless you're a mid-major or lower.

My point was I expected MU to win every game in Milwaukee except 2000 where there was no student section, 2014 ,and 2020 where there were no fans. So there was no justification for a court storm. "Media personalities" on social media calling MU frauds, in a game they should expect to win makes not sense.
