Kam
JOP
Stevie.
Al Amadou.
Who else? Guy sent a message to Shaka: Play me!
Lowery
Amadou
Tyler Kolek
Stevie set the pace from the jump! Stevie it is!
It could be Kam or Tyler, but I'm going with Al Amadou!
His first four college baskets have all been dunks. Has this ever been done before?
Tyler.
Every outside shot looked as pure as I've seen his shots look.
So much has changed since his line drive brutal 3P attempts of yesteryear.
Now I see what Shaka was talking about, the kid can actually shoot, and that alone makes him more elite than he was last year.
When you think he's reached his ceiling....
What's with the low assists though? 😂

Keeyan was 5-5 on dunks last year as a RS frosh. His MU legacy.
Kolek.

Yea don't mean to disparage the young man but I will say he looks completely lost on the defensive end.
It always shocks me that it can happen to some guys, but it's clear that the game needs to slow down a bunch for Al to play.
That said, he blocked a few shots, which shows both great athleticism and instinct defensively.
Also, on the offensive end he seems to read things WAY better than on the other end. Great read of lobs isn't an easy skill and he already makes it look easy, he's dialed in on that end. Also made a good pass out of an O rebound.
I think he's earned himself some Oso foul trouble minutes, especially on the offensive end of things in few possession situations
Wow, hard in a blowout to find a STOG. The stats don't mean much, so I've gotta go with Stevie. He was a defensive force when it was close, and he caused some TO's that set the tone. Plus he contibuted offensively.
Give it to Stevie and lock it up. Set the tone on D, looked for his shot without forcing things, and looked every bit the upperclassman he is.

Will TyKo be a 1st round pick?

Stevie is a great young man. I root for him harder than anyone on the team. But Kolek was basically perfect tonight and Kam wasn't far behind. "Looking like an upperclassman" comes up considerably short of the way that those two played.

I'm pretty sure Oso will.
I think TyKo is a solid mid 2nd rounder, especially with that shot developing.
Just too much moxie and ability to pass up on.
I also think Kam Jones is a late second rounder to a team that thinks he can play the point in the NBA.
All of these guesses would be solidified with a Final Four trip.
Caveat- I thought OMax wouldn't be drafted because of his lack in basketball IQ and lack of improvement on the inside with rebounding, but boy was I way off so I don't know crap.
His athleticism and defensive ability made him a first rounder, and those two guards are the opposite of NBA athleticism.
Hard to argue with Kolek's stat line. Or Kam's But we got pretty much anything we wanted offensively so take almost all stats with a grain of salt.
I actually really liked Gold's game tonight. He missed his first four 3s - the first three looked really flat - but otherwise he played a real good game and Shaka gave him a nice long run (team-high 22 mins), both with the main guys in the first half and the subs in the second half. He scored 10 points, rebounded well (team-high 8 boards), had a nice hustle putback, threw a perfect alley-oop to Amadou, handled the ball against pressure a couple times. And it was nice to see that last 3 go in cuz we'll need a couple from him Saturday.
I'm not one to choose somebody other than the obvious just to be different, so I'd have no problem (obviously) with Kolek or Kam. But Gold wouldn't just be a "oh, let's give it to someone else" pick in this one IMHO.
It was Tyler, didn't do anything wrong, did a bit of everything right, and was the one matching Johnson's shooting when the game was still in doubt.
82,
Thought the same thing when Gold's three went in after he had been 0-3. "Thank goodness, because we are going to need a couple of those to go in Saturday". Gold can be a pressure release valve in big games if a good clip of his uncontested threes on pick and pops go in.

Speaking of Keeyan, he's averaging 8 and 6 in 24 MPG for Northern Kentucky, including a 14 pt game against Washington. Good to see the young man getting some playing time.

Good for Keeyan. I was higher on him than most and am pleased to hear he is doing well.

Higher than most? Au contraire.
Anyone that transfers from Marquette or leaves early for the pros is a looser and trader (Unless they're white guys from Wisconsin) and I always say, don't let the door hit yeah where the lord split yeah aina?

TKo had the best statline, slightly edging Kam. Stevie brought the most defensive intensity. Any of those three

Absolutely Kolek. Others get the inclusive participation trophy.
It should be Kolek, but if my vote actually mattered, I would vote for Amadou

It is Tyler kolek.
But all three freshmen played well. Stevie returned to form in sparsh minutes. Ben Gold elevated my view of him. It was a good game to look good in.

I saw her in the blue and gold club opening night and chatted with her for a few minutes. She seems super nice and said she could not be happier that Sean came to MU.
