1. Shoot 50% from three
2. Hope MU shoots less than 30% from three
3. Make a 70' shot
4. Hope MU misses multiple open layups
5. Get Shrek to play center for us
I'll take it. 9 of 10 times we win that game. Let's go!

::)
We don't win 9/10, but I do think we get 6/10, and if we get a miracle second half three, we absolutely win in overtime.

I love this. Not 9, but more often than not.
I think we're a better team, but I'd be okay if someone takes them out before we see them in March. Their offense is great and Edey spooks teams in the paint. And gets teams in foul trouble.
I think we win any game Oso can stay on the floor for 35 minutes.
I hate to say it, but this whole game hinged on that dumb second foul by Oso. Live and learn.

That was my thinking exactly. That play cost us dearly. They got a three I still think was after the shot clock and a 75 footer. We could easily have won that game. It would have been nice to be number 1, but at least now we know we can compete with anybody.
I'm a glass half full kind of guy. I stick by my statement - we win that 9 out of 10 times. :)

Absolutely?
Going into OT with Oso and Ben with 4 fouls....certainly would not call that an absolute. I understand we were playing better than Purdue in the 2nd half.....but we absolutely aren't guaranteed an OT win.
One positive from the 70 footer is that most teams would have folded. Hard to a have a tougher end of a half of basketball and they could have said it was just Purdue's day. As a fan, I did not like it, but I still thought MU would win.

Certainly never out of it. I was a little shocked just how hard they fought back--even if I shouldn't be. I just assumed it was a day to move to Australia and those happen sometimes--they didn't.
Great effort and a few bounces from going our way.

Yes. No quit on this team. Rattled but stayed poised and never melted under the bright lights. No moral victories but they never stopped competing
If they want to play the finals and 3rd place game during the day on Wednesday, why would they have the semifinal of the winners bracket at night on Tuesday? I know Purdue was playing 3 games in 3 days as well. But playing that 3rd game 15 hours after you finish your semifinal game is kind of nuts.
In fairness, they still got a great game so it certainly didn't hurt the product.

Edey spooks teams in the paint.
There was one possession late in the game when Chase had a wide open layup. You could see him look over his shoulder to find Edey just before shooting and he completely missed the rim -- just bounced off the glass and over to the other side. Even when Edey's not actually involved in the play around the basket -- he's involved in the play around the basket.

Yep......happened a few times but I remember that play well.

I really don't like the length of the auto bench players get when that happens though. At what point is avoiding that potential third foul putting you at a bigger disadvantage through point deficit.

Depends on the situation. Guarding a big like Edey? I think you keep him out as much of the half as you can without letting the game get away. If Oso has to come back in, Purdue is going right into Edey, who throws his weight around all game. Oso either has to back away and give up what is essentially and uncontested dunk or he'll probably pick up a 3rd foul.
If you're playing a team like Creighton who doesn't just throw the ball into Kalk? You can maybe risk it.
