He's bought in. Every sideline glance, every celebration.
It's easy to see a star looking for face time.
When you look at Dwyane, you see a guy who isn't even looking at a phone.
He's not distracted. He doesn't care about the millions of more important things in his life outside of Marquette basketball.
He cares about Marquette basketball. He cares about this next win.
And that's another sign that we've made it.
Love it Doctor V. Keep the live updates coming.

Love this post!
Jop phrased it really well when he was asked about Wade. He spoke of how Wade has bigger things he could be doing, but he chooses to be in Maui and has been doing a lot of the team activities with the guys. The amount of $ in free marketing MU has made off of him sitting courtside is insane. His actions speak so loudly as to the person he is. I don't think there's a better former player/alum out there...
Wade supporting the program , like they used to say in the credit card commercial , is priceless.
When the camera would pan to him, he was intently watching the game.
And it's not just Wade. Travis, Steve, Dan Fitz and Chris Grimm are there too. And they're completely bought in. Having Travis & Steve completely lock stock & barrel is incredible. Jerel was at the Illinois game.
We're absolutely f'n rolling.
Loved Wades interview during the game. You could tell he wanted to be watching the game rather than answering questions. But he knows that's his roll in helping the school/team. He looked completely invested in the game.
And as Lens pointed out, really impressed by the by in from the other players as well. Now if they could get some Jimmy shout outs that would be huge as well.
Does this mean we can forgive him for the Indiana shorts?

How many hall of famers are this invested in their college team? It's crazy how lucky we are.
Its great to see Marquette greats supporting the team. Marquette has a rich history of great players. Would l look be to see them sitting behind the players.
Who was sitting next to Wade at the games? I'm assuming it wasn't RJax or people would have mentioned him.

I was wondering the same. It didn't look like Jackson to me.
I only noticed his father next to him

I may be mistaken, but at one point I swear it was MU prez Lovell.

Lovell is his father. He adopted him so he could walk on.

even guys that were a part of the glory years were in Maui from what I understand ...I believe Bill Walton mentioned Bo Ellis being there.

You may have never noticed, but Wade has two sides. People on this thread are talking about his
other side.
Bo was there I worked with his wife during the service project on Saturday morning, and saw him at one of the pregame parties.

During a time out, Lovell called Earl Walton over to ask why there was no foul called when Stevie was flung to the ground on a rebound (when the foul calls were (MU 8-Purdue 1). Earl took the whole time out trying to justify why he isn't incompetent. Lovell didn't seem satisfied. Val on line 1
between stuff like this and WINNING, i'd love to see what the word is from potential recruits. based on this past recruiting season, shaka appears to be pretty scrupulous. rather than filling the spot left by omax departure with a warm body, his actions seem to let it be known, apply within:
ncaa division one team, looking for selfless ninjas on defense, good character people who buy into accepting TEAM roles with a never say die and a soldier in the fox hole mentality. able to dribble and shoot a basketball, is adept at the pick and roll, rebound and unafraid to get a little bruised up in the process
otherwise, don't bother
players should be swarming to ball for shaka and this school
many here are going to see what b-ball crowds were like back in the day if only they would allow the classic toilet paper throw after our first made shot. they were deafening as a rock concert too. shaka's gonna have the jumpin jesuits jumpinout of their sweater vests wearing tear away jerseys with their MU hats on backwards in the battle position
i hope jumpin jiminy(rick smith) has something left in the tank because he's gonna need it
Rocket
I agree across the board. Recruiting is getting easier by the day, especially for the right kind of kid/player. MU might be the most exciting team in the country in terms of style of play.
As for the fans, I think we have not seen this type of excitement in 45 years. Winning and style of play will fill the FF and I believe it will once again become one of the most difficult places to play in the country.
