Poll
Question:
Is this the greatest Marquette team of all time ?
Option 1: Yes
votes: 28
Option 2: Yes
votes: 20
The answer is clear folks
This team reminds me of my favorite MU team. 27-2 team, which lost to undefeated Indiana team. That team was very quick. The game is different today, so it is hard to compare. However, the 27-2 team had Ellis, Whitehead, Tatum, Lee, Walton and Toone who all played in NBA.

That destroys the current team, which has zero players who have ever played in the NBA!
Blasphemous as it stands, because of the shoulders we stand on with the fellas on here that witnessed the 70s.
Not completely insane though.
Best team in America currently imo, but let's win tomorrow.
The BE conference title race will be more elite than any March race. Give me the notoriety of March, but the basketball will be better in the BE with UConn and Creighton.
That said, will Marquette lose a game?
I know, I'm insane. Let's take down the 7'2 all American giant first
I don't want Farley to bash my opinion, but I do not think even in the conservation of best ever. But, I believe they are the best team in America right now, and that is special status in school history.
I 100% believe this team can win the national championship and that puts them in a small group of MU teams. This group has grown, matured and improved with all of watching and that makes them different.
This group has become my favorite team of all time a year ago. '75-76 was my dream team, but these guys won me over. Again, not the best but my favorite.
MUGOAT??? That covers a lot of ground, but I suppose they could be. Check back in about 120 days.
Yes, some time in early April 2024.

Even the best team in America will probably lose perhaps two games (although I'm imagining zero losses). If those are road games vs. Creighton or UCONN, relax! A W tonight would be the icing on the cake with our first #1 ranking since 1978.
I'm just loving this team. Last night was their best performance in the Shaka Era.
Brothers and Sisters:
I've followed Marquette basketball since the early days of Coach McGuire. While I'm as enthusiastic as anyone here, let's not get carried away.
At this juncture, we are five games into a long season. We have had some incredible moments so far. But we have a long way to go. We still have a formidable conference schedule as well as the road kill, the ex-Shaka's and Our B@itch to play.
If we play like we have during the last week or so all season, this team will rank among our best ever. These guys have shown what it
Means to play as one and to be for each other.
We will see if they accomplish what our 1973-1974 team did (NCAA runner up), our 1975-1976 team (ranked 2, regional finalist in an unseeded tournament) or our 1977 team.
Enjoy the ride.

Even though. that game was the NCAA Championship game as we lost to Bobby Knights undefeated Indiana team that year.
This is going to be an incredibly long season, waiting, waiting, waiting.
Just going to enjoy every chance I get to watch this team play. Love everything about the program from Lovell's buy in all the way down to the walk ons and the fan support. Insane that we're 5 games into a season and already have a road win at Illinois and neutral court wins over UCLA and Kansas. Time to add Purdue to that and go from there. Will assess where they land in all time greats after the season.
We'll see!

Dude is 7'4''!!!
Just think, two years ago yesterday MU got knocked around by the Bonnies. Pretty impressive rebuild of a program.

I don't think that's accurate
Well, not at the moment; but we still have 20 minutes to turn things around.

The results of the poll say otherwise....
It's their best team of my lifetime (1990-present)
