Since it's the off-season I was hoping to start a topic that could do something other than point fingers at one another. I just had the thought of 'what would be the best star vs star match up you'd like to see?'
Graduating class isn't a factor. A couple I came up with in my head are 'Wade v Harangody', 'Howard v Walker', and 'JFB v Ndefo'
It's downtime. Let the minds wander. Try to keep it civil, tough ask I know, but what are some of the dream match-ups you wish could have happened?
I look forward to this post being hijacked in 45 minutes

DWade vs JFB. Both in their primes.
Prime Nicklaus vs. Prime Woods.

How are you defining "primes." If it's "the very best Jimmy Butler Playoff run" of 15-25 game sample size, that might be interesting. If it's the totality of their primes (a number of years) or best full season, Wade's a couple steps above Jimmy.

Agree. Butler's "prime" came later in his career than Wade's. Dwayne at age 25-27 was better than Jimmy at that age. Jimmy at 33 is better than Dwyane was at 33. Overall, though, the edge has to go to Dwyane.
Easy peasy:
Meminger vs. Olajuwon

Maybe Prime Mickelson vs. Prime Watson as a first course.

Yeah, obviously Wade had a much better career than Jimmy. But I'd love to see Jimmy's peak level play (his right-now level) vs. Wade at whatever his peak was. That would be an epic battle of some great warriors.

Is Jake Arrietta still in the league? If so, it's been back.

Jake is retired but the Brewers are paying Ryan until 2031.

Yup. And for an organization like the Brewers it was worth every penny. Yeli followed the same lead, but was smart enough to stop using them when he got his big payday. He can be as unproductive as any player in the MLB and he'll still get his 9 digits of money. The only thing that will prevent that is getting caught. He's a smart man.
Sew Yeli roided, stole signs, and subsequently stole money and iz still considered won of da Brewskis all-time grates. Tank heavens for scattered kneecaps. Oh, and he has no arm. Peddle hiz ass for a rosin bag and sum unwashed Bikes, aina?

Well to be fair, the Brewers have to be one of the worst franchises in MLB history. 54 years and
0 World Series
1 Pennant
3 LCS appearances
5 Division titles

Nobody's taking his contract.
It doesn't take much to be an all time great Brewer.

Hey, he recently cracked the top 10 in all time Brewers offensive WAR. Next up...Jeff Cirillo and Ben Ogilve.
Ryan Braun might be the Brewers best player right now appearing in 0 games and they're still in 1st.
According to the script, the Brewer get their 15 injured players back, win the World Series, and Bob Uecker retires on top.
