Wild story brewing in Tuscaloosa
Apparently Alabama had made the decision to go with a line-up that featured less of their regular players and a pitcher who usually comes out of the bull-pen. And the gambling activity occurred prior to the line-up being announced.
Roll (over) Tide.
And the first place team visits for the weekend. Although Alabama is one of the best hitting teams in their league vs left handers. They'll see 3 of those this weekend.
Here's an interesting paragraph from The Athletic:
It's easy to blame the wave of legalized sports betting but, as regulators point out, the system worked "within minutes" here. Less than a week after the game and just three days after the bets were flagged, the situation is likely resolved. Will that dissuade impostors? Maybe. We've seen plenty of point-shaving scandals in college sports, but none sorted out this quickly.
