Is this because of the time and/or because it's on FOX? My boss is a UConn grad and he tried to watch Friday's game, but didn't know where FS1 was on his TV? (He's not a big sports person.)

FS1 numbers always lag far behind ESPN numbers.

The Big East Final was on Fox.
A10 Championship drawing bigger ratings than the Big East Championship is kind of shocking

Woke people boycotting FOX
It probably didn't help that the Big East championship was over in like 5 minutes.

Fri/Sat night is great for a live event--probably not great (maybe the worst?) for TV sports.
In most of the country it wasn't even a Saturday night.

You may notice that this article said "surprisingly though one half season" before going on the explain that Fox is historically third behind ESPN and CBS and that Fox itself didn't exist this to be sustainable

I guess it lags behind Big Ten Network too.

Does it? This article only mentioned the B1G tournament semis and finals that were on CBS

Cool. Here's some context: https://painttouches.com/2023/03/15/putting-the-big-east-tournament-tv-ratings-in-context-fox-espn-big-east
Big East tournament ratings have lagged behind the other conference tournaments since the reformation. It's a product of multiple factors including the network, the timing of the tournament, and the alumni bases of the member schools.

Basketball awareness for midmajor championships on CBS is probably nevee higher than on Selection Sunday. Can see why the A10 draws.

1. Note that this article is regarding Fox, not FS1.
2. Fox numbers early in the season were highly impacted by the 3 million who watched the Christmas Day matchup between DePaul and Creighton--more than 3x the typical Fox viewership. Take that one game away, and Fox wouldn't lead the ratings.

1) Note that the Big East Final was played on Fox, not FS1.
2) Fox also had a top 10 ratings game this season between UCLA and Colorado.
3) I said Fox ratings were up, not that they led the ratings.
4) 6 of the top 15 ratings games were on CBS. None were the limited number Big East games. (20 additional Big East games aires on CBS Sports Network)
