MU has weaknesses. They don't rebound well enough and they don't have bigs to push butt and scrap under the basket on missed shots. Sometimes they get cold shooting from three.
Still they do so many things well, they get lay ups because they have Kolek and Oso making good passes to cutters and they pass the ball out to shooters. It's a strategy that MU had adapted to well. And they don't turn the ball over. Get more shots than your opponent and hit a decent pct from three. Hope the refs give you the plus 1 on some of those bunnies. They have faced stiffer competition in the Big East than many of the teams they face in the tournament.
Marquette who? People are starting to recognize the efficiency of the offense. Even sports writers who cover bb. They go over their old notes about Shaka and havoc. They don't give him credit for his understanding of basketball strategy. Has he studied Tex Winter who coached at MU? Undoubtedly. The team plays extremely well defensively in big games. Is that enough? I believe so and I see a team that beats Vermont, and then Michigan State (and that Houser kid) and Kentucky. D Wade will be at the Kentucky game and he will remind everyone what he did to the Wildcats in 2003. Carry on. I've gone on enough. We'll get there when we get there.
It was nice to see MU beat Uconn in the BET especially. Knowing we can compete with and beat teams with a considerable size advantage is reassuring. MU nearly beat Purdue, and almost should have.

I feel like I should jump into that thread about Jimmy Butler not supporting the current team enough and I just cringe. Maybe I just skimmed it or rushed through it too quickly. I like it when people share their thoughts and opinions. We will never share a beer together or remember things the same way, but bb fans, especially from small schools, bond together tightly because our disappointments and our triumphs are remotely ours.
