I don't care for Danny Hurley. I'm hopeful we will be much more relaxed and ready to go tomorrow. A 2 seed is in play for MU and we are more than capable of seizing it. :)

Totally agree Hurley is a punk. I do think the team will be more relaxed and play better tomorrow. There were a lot of careless mistakes today.
Used to be in this group, but then I heard his post game after we beat them in Milwaukee and he was a totally different person. Very complimentary of MU and the team, even stopped in the middle of an answer to say "God Bless You' when someone sneezed.
I think he is a psycho during the game, definitely a whiner, but outside of that I think he is a good guy.

Kind of agree. Still a clown on the sideline but not the total asshat I used to think.

Yes—-heard that presser as well. Was taken back how real he was and very complimentary of MU and the fans.
Outside of DePaul and Georgetown, I mostly like or at least respect all of the Big East coaches right now and think the league is set for some good years. That said I really dislike Hurley. I agree he was very different and respectable in that press conference but he is a guy you just have to love to hate.
And what's with the puppy crush that Fox Sports has on UCONN. Right after they said during the PC game, We are witnessing the possible coronation of UConn, Providence explodes.

Silly comment.
Sorry Muggsy. Fox Sports has a big time crush on UConn and calling their lead against PC a 'possible coronation' of UConn was a bit much.
Everything people say about Hurley could be said about Al McGuire. Like Al, Hurley draws all the attention on the floor and can be "arrogant and obnoxious" but is totally different outside the lines. Al was very complimentary to opponents after games and would talk to anybody he met. Hurley doesn't have Al's wit but they are otherwise very similar.

I didn't mean you Trojan. I agree the coronation comment was absurd.

Gato,
Al dominated for a decade at MU and had swag. I don't think that's compatible to Hurley's antics.
I don't like him either, but I love to hate him. Makes me look forward to future match ups against him. Should be fun.

Lame. Al was doing his shtick long before he won a national title.
If Shaka wasn't at Marquette, I'd take Hurley in a heartbeat

Hurley may do as well as Al—he has time. Yet, I was not comparing their records, only their style. I have been observing Hurley with this in mind since last year and i cannot escape the conclusion they are pretty similar but for Al's wit and wisdom.
Outspoken. Draws the wrath of opposing fans. Speaks his mind and goes into Mr. Beautiful mode after the game. That describes both of them.

Allright. Thx for the explanation. How's Mrs.Gato?
Hurley is a scumbag

i think this is a nice observation-the hurley's grew up eating, drinking and chitting basketballs. they know how this all works. game face on, game face off. the politics of coaching except there are some real d!ks and then there are some who are who they are. to the casual observer, you can either be a mr hughs or a i hate that guy except if he were on my team
*let's see how many of you out there get my "mr hughs" analogy

Yep, if Hurley was our coach we'd be over the moon for him, and be comparing him to Al.
Because that is all we know.
