Here we go again. I hope these guys will go in there with the biggest chip on their shoulder and as Tyler would say, F*ck'em.
Fanta picked Creighton.

Fanta hates Marquette. What disrespect
Realistically, 6 teams have a shot at it.
I didn't find this article problematic. IF I wasn't picking MU I'd be picking UConn. That said F*^€ 'Em.
The Post is a rag wrt news. Are they better with sports coverage?

Agree. Truth is, I would not take MU to win this. Would love to see us win, but UConn is a tough matchup. We have never made it to Saturday. Maybe this year will get us there.

Thinking UConn is simply better and/or a bad matchup for Marquette is a perfectly good reason to pick UConn.
However,
"We have never made it to Saturday" is not.
Marquette also had never won an outright regular-season Big East title, had never put up an .850 winning percentage in Big East play, had never beaten every Big East team in one season, had never gone 8-1 in February/March (thus avoiding the "February Fade" that a huge number of Scoopers feared because we "always" fade in February), etc etc etc.
Stuff that happened 2 years ago and 4 years ago and 8 years ago and 12 years ago has absolutely nothing to do with this season -- which all of us should have learned by now. Even last year has little to do with this season, except maybe to actually help as a motivating factor.
My interest in the BET is slightly higher today than it was a month ago simply based on getting some wins will stop the talk of past season failures. To me, this year the BET #1 goal is to get the guys playing with confidence and good rhythm going into NCAA. That said, I am very happy that MU will have a big following and I would be happy for everyone that attends the BET.

I'd love to see them playing for a title. Been too long since they have. Also think it would mean a lot to the players
Its only a couple more games. I predict the Warriors will continue to play on fire. Go Marquette.
Rico
I am all in for playing for the title, just will not lose any sleep if they do not. My expectations for the team start next week and very much looking forward to it.
Win tomorrow and everything else is gravy.

But you were just bringing up what Marquette did to St. John's in past Big East Tournaments. You can't have it both ways.

I explained that to you, but if you want to ignore that and be obtuse it is your right.

Right. Your explanation was that you're "talking about Scooper angst, that's all." So you can settle Scoopers' angst based on things that happened in the past (we beat SJU in the BET in 2019 when Scoopers thought we wouldn't, so we'll do it in 2023 when Scoopers think it's a tough matchup), but Scoopers can't have angst over what has happened in the past (MU has laid eggs in Hinkle before, so this game makes me nervous)?
Again, you can't have it both ways. Although you try to.
