These games outside the BE are not going our way currently
This actually isn't as easy as it would seem.
It will be much more clear after tonight's result.
I've seen talk of hoping Baylor and Texas win for example, but if Marquette win tonight they have high hopes for a possible 2 seed so we would be rooting against those two.
With a loss the hope becomes a 3 and things become clearer.
But Marquette isn't going to lose, are they?
Marquette controls its own destiny. What happens outside of Marquette games is a lot less meaningful when you're playing for a 2 or 3 seed and not for a spot in the bracket. Top teams still have to play each other enough that not everyone can get wins. Win the remaining 3 games, as Marquette should, and let the chips fall where they may.

But it is meaningful. Marquette can win out through the BET and still end up on the same seed line because the teams ahead of them also win. If we want Marquette to move up a seed line, other teams will have to lose. As fans on fan forum, there is nothing wrong with us discussing who those teams are.
All teams control their own destiny the the extent that they can, but when it comes to a 2 seed Marquette needs help to get there.
At least now we know that we want some of those 2 seeds to stumble
Some of the twos are either going to have to lose to lower ranked teams before meeting each other, or meet each other. Not all the 2s can win out.

True, but losing to another projected 2 seed won't hurt them significantly
So, IU has lost twice and ISU has lost since the reveal? MU should be solidly on the 3 line now. I dont see a 2 seed happening, but would be thrilled.
Baylor lost twice.
Tenn lost twice
Iowa St lost twice
Virginia lost badly to 13-15 Boston College, that's good

Their KenPom ranking has dropped 20 spots in the last three games. That's really hard to do when you're towards the top of the rankings this late in the season.
They thought BC was short for UMBC.

Indiana lost and plays at Purdue next, so possibly looking at two losses since reveal without even entering the conference tourney.
There are lots of games for the Top 16 to lose. If MU wins out, they'll get their 2 seed unless there are some very surprising results.

Indiana lost twice. Their loss to Northwestern wasn't considered in the reveal.
