Poll
Question:
Who did it better?
Option 1: Lewis against Wisconsin
votes: 60
Option 2: Prosper against Xavier
votes: 46
It's a party night, let's have some fun!
I voted Lewis, because tipping in a missed free throw to win a game rarely happens.
I will say Omax only because tonight might be program changing win. Loved Lewis against UW, but in a picture it meant little. Tonight the program made another real step forward.
Lewis was more improbable/shocking.
Omax was bigger in scale and also a loss without it.
Beating Bucky is great but this one was for first place so it means more. OMax for the win.
That was in an empty arena against a non conference opponent. The significance of tonight's moment was exponentially higher.
It's just a shame that JLew didn't have a sold out crowd blowing the roof off the place.
That would've been the loudest the Fiserv could get.
But, as others have said, a last second tip in for front seat in a mid February game like this? Has to be OMax tonight.
So happy his family was there tonight (only second time Ive seen them at a game this year).
Before I clicked, I was hoping this would be a poll about the MU cheerleader Danny McBride vs. the Xavier benchwarmer Danny McBride.
BTDubs, cheerleader all day.

This
OMax's was better given the conference situation, a live crowd, and because it would have been a loss (not a tie) had he missed.
But Lewis gets points for being against UW and a true buzzer beater.

I was so happy when the found the MU mullet man. I was getting angry that the X guy was on after every basket in their run.
Probably some recency bias, but I went with Prosper.
Lewis's was also fun because he big boyed Micah Potter, who then cried about not getting a foul call.
Obviously OMax's was a much bigger play.
Omax's easily. It matters more. Plus there were fans.
I feel bad for the 2020 year guys, but Lewis had bright moments in the next year under Shaka. (both Villanova games)
Omax hasn't played the best recently but he won the game when it mattered most.
That was probably one of Omax's last few games at home, with Marquette being over recruited by one, Omax has been the only player with minor NBA draft buzz both at the start of the year and still today. NIL and Visa's are difficult. And it likely secured this team a share of the big east title.
I'd put Lewis' 3 against Nova above his tip in. Still might give the edge to O-Max for last night though.
Either way, both of the two I've mentioned here were HUGE cultural dominoes for this team and building blocks to this program. Justin's 3 was an announcement that we weren't a team you could walk over and that the program shift was for real. O-Max for the "win anyway" when the conference is on the line. Both huge winning plays.
OMax isn't going to the NBA next year. Leaving would be a huge mistake. Another year of development at MU could make him a lot more money down the road. If everyone comes back, they will likely redshirt one of the incoming freshman.
They would still be on scholarship and still "count".
It's hard enough to watch OMax against Big East basketball players. The thought of watching him go against NBA players is comedy.
Hopefully the clutch layup and clutch tip in get him going. We need more consistency from him big time.

Yeah, someone is either leaving or not coming.
Prosper. The game was much bigger.
What no Jerome Whitehead?
