Screw them for picking that picture to pair with the article, unless they wanted to highlight Nunge fouling.

Agreed Goose, huge game.  Kolek will eat them alive. SOTG

First place for another week.  Unbelievable this season.

With Omax off his game, intrigued with the idea of starting Gold.  Not likely to happen....why mess with a winning formula.  I'd be ok with a very short leash for Omax instead.

Hoping "good" Joplin shows up tonight. That is always fun to watch.

Going in to Omaha with almost a week off should be fun too.

At this point, we are playing for seeding. Wow.

You taking the grand kids to Real Chili for a post game snack?  Start em young!

Bring home a W!

I went grocery shopping this morning and my total was exactly $77.77!!!  That's gotta be a sign we're gonna beat Xavier and get Owens to commit.

Have to say Omax over Gold.
Omax is a two year starter at MU and this is a big game.
But then again, I am only the arm chair head coach.

Feel really optimistic about it and I think MU knocks 'em out early like UCONN did to us where the game was between 10-20 pretty much the whole way. That's just my gut feeling though and Xavier is a very formidable opponent.

It doesn't quite match the magnitude of the '09 UCONN game, but this is one of the bigger regular season games in the last 20 years IMO. It's awesome to know that the latest iteration of the Big East can still have prime time matchups like this.

The very fact that we are very much in the fight for first place rather than struggling late in a season and hoping to just hang on is huge. .

Agreed. Even when not at his best, OMax's size and mobility defensively creates issues for other teams. Xavier can be prone to turning the ball over, and OMax's presence defensively at the point when applying some extended pressure can hinder X getting into its half-court offensive flow. That offense is solid even without Freemantle, so disrupting it from the start could have a significant impact.

Interesting to see the article cite Kunkel as a potential impact player. I was thinking this morning that I suspect MU will devote a lot of focus to Boum, which could free up Kunkel as a wild card who could step up. Colby Jones is very capable offensively, but he is such a Swiss Army knife type player that he is not typically in attack mode as a scorer other than in stretches. I expect some high low action where X will look to go over the top of the defense to Nunge. We also need to keep Hunter off the offensive boards. He isn't the offensive player Freemantle was, but he does the dirty work and is also a better defender than Freemantle.

Should be a great game. Warriors by 8.

Jimmy Mac had a big night against X at the BC many years ago. I believe he set the single game blocked shots record. My wife loves shots being blocked and she was going crazy. Unfortunately I think it was in a losing effort.

Marquette came out with its own egg brand, The Golden Eagle, for the game. Each fan gets one and on the Shell it says "X marks the spot".

Great memory although I was just trying to not trigger Muggs about height jokes.

Go Warriors!!! Have fun with the family. Your granddaughter is a cutie and smart as she was a bit suspicious of me.

My granddaughter is shooting for the Jumbotron appearance record held by the Benny Clan. Competition is good as it creates a lifetime of memories so I will be looking for yours tonight. My grandson still is perplexed why Markus would leave a place like Marquette for Italy.

It's so much fun to be this excited for a game! Going to be there with most of the crew including one 2nd gen MU Grad and a prospective MU Frosh for next Fall. I'm hoping that the win (by 11) and the atmosphere at the Fiserv seal the deal vs other contenders for my "going to be Frosh". Ring Out Ahoya.......(loudly)!!!
