1. Really never a doubt.
2. I liked seeing Sean use his quickness to set up teammates.
3. Ben is good. Another year in the weight room.
4. With 13 minutes to go in the first half, all 9 players had played. Huge fan.
5. A few times today, they weren't ready for the pass. How? On this team, the hands always have to be up and ready.
6. Omax's body language when frustrated is bad. Glad Shaka challenged him.
7. Some sloppiness offensively, but good ball movement, good off-the-ball movement, and sharing the ball.
8. The jumbo package up front. Nice for a change up.
9. Still getting guards on post players due to switching.
10. Nice bounce back. All 9 contributed. Everybody can R-E-L-A-X. For about 10 minutes before the Xavier obsessing begins.
Shaka gave Omax a lot of minutes in the second half and hope it gives him some confidence.

I was thinking about this, too. I wonder if it was also a challenge to get his head out of his rear. Sitting with a big lead is a sign of well done, continuing to play is a sign of do better, maybe
Took care of business. Got Tyler some extra rest at the end.
We have the deflections tracker. Can we get a tracker for how many times OMax hits the deck?
A couple sloppy turnovers and getting beat backdoor or on curl screens, but overall a good game. Best we've played in a couple weeks.
Carry over that offense and kick X while they're down. Make their February Fade real.

My guess is it was challenging him. He is needed for a deep run.

20 wins!
And even better days ahead!

Very disappointed in your thread title.
It would have been so much better with:
"Fade Delayed"

OMax is getting hit a lot. But because he goes down every time, the refs assume he is crying wolf and he doesn't get calls. He. needs to stay on his feet. I think it is a sign he needs to get stronger.

He is going to go down as one of the all time players at MU. A real joy to watch.

Quietly had a decent game. I think he gained confidence today
Avoided the upset on the road. Which other Big East contenders can't claim this weekend. Not the prettiest at times but thrilled with any win at this point of the year.
Go UCONN.
Jake
Decent game by Omax and they need him to continue. I was happy to see him get the extra minutes.

He is on the ground more than anyone other than maybe Demar Derozen.
Anyone do a welfare check on farley and neverbeenawarrior?

Nope GE leads college athletics in this.
Happy for the win, but again concerned with late 2nd half (6 mins or so?) some guys seemed content and not putting the effort, Oso just going through motions.

Up 22 with 3:30 to go. Ross, S. Jones, Joplin, Gold and Omax on floor.
MU scored one basket, a three pointer by Joplin from that point on. No big deal.

I agree with this assessment.
The team is better when OMax is better. To be fair, we are beating up on a 11/7/3 performance.
Joplin the only MU player without an assist today.
The good-
Strong bounce back from the UConn embarrassment.
Trap game? Pshaw.
Energy returned- plenty of movement.
Kam has a short memory- perfect for a scorer.
Gold is developing nicely and seems to be gaining confidence.
TK- did just about everything right. And played in control.
Not so good-
Sloppy. Another game of above average TOs.
Slapping fouls ain't good D.
Sean has got to learn how to control his speed. A bit reckless at times.
O-Max- find the 'smooth' setting... seems ready to lose the ball every time he drives.
Oso- if it ain't a dunk, his shot looks weak.
Good game and great way to exorcise the demons of sluggishness these last few games.
Bring on X- like our odds, even if it wasn't at home.
We talked about this a week or so back, but the Batman and Robin PG punch of Tyler and Stevie is really undervalued. Stevie is a transfer point player on O and can lock down the opposing PG on D, allowing Tyler the freedom to roam on both ends.

For some reason Omax is the most criticized guy on the team. Possibly because it has been noted that NBA scouts are there to watch him or almost every game an announcer makes a prospect comment.
I think Omax is extremely valuable on defense and wish his offense was more consistent. That said, just because he may be a NBA prospect it does not mean he is NBA ready and I get that. I would say that Ben Gold is likely an NBA prospect to many scouts, but that means nothing to how he contributes this season.

Do you have inside knowledge about the Stevie transfer situation? I'll ask Mrs. Legs she probably has much better info.

Transfer point is a logistics term, not a letter writing exercise. That said, Mrs. Legs knows Stevie.

Better than Shaka, hey
To me this game was all about Shaka making a noticeable adjustment and telling his guys to take the 3 when it is available...that did so...from start to finish...with great efficiency.

Gtown being absolutely clueless on defense has nothing to do with Shaka.
Would've loved to hold the 20+ point margin, but we got a ton of rest in the second half for the starters so we should be fresh to play Xavier. I loved the time Shaka stole for Kolek and the other starters.
The next 10 days could decide the Big East, with Creighton at Providence Tuesday, Xavier at Marquette Wednesday, and Marquette at Creighton the following Tuesday. Just need 2/3 results to go our way and we're in good shape.
Where is that dunce Farley? Guess you were wrong. Crazy I know

Don't worry, they will be out in full force after a loss!! Just may take a while, which is a good thing.
Too busy watching the Badgers win......
errrr...... I mean...... ummmmm.... yeah.
Shaka might have convinced Kam to stop taking 30-footers, but he still wants Kam to launch 3s early and often.
In his post-game press conference, Shaka said: "He took nine 3s today and I thought he passed up a couple. I told him, 'Shoot it 15 times from out there if you can.' Because that's a high-quality shot for us."
So, Markus.

Omax seems to do OK against poor teams but not well against the good teams. Against good teams it looks to me like he just can't mentally keep up with them.
Also, stop flopping around. His balance is still not good, so he's often out of position and then a bump+flop = bucket for the other team.
Need him to play much better

Of course this would be willie's one comment on a game where we had a 25 point second half lead and cruised to victory.
I was delighted with the win. Anytime we crush Georgetown it is a good thing . Now we have to focus on X.
MU is first in the BIG East and controls its destiny . What a great place to be.

The Eeyores on April 3: "Winning the national title is OK, but we had a horrible 3-minute stretch midway through the second half when our lead fell to 9. And O-Max didn't do much -- Shaka needed to play Gold more."
MU covered a 12 point spread on the road while resting starters and letting the bench get extended run. No worries.
I have NEVER been concerned or interested in how the last five minutes of a blowout plays out. Actually, there are more learning experiences that can be gained vs. a great finish to the game.

Shaka was shoulder to shoulder with me. I really enjoyed meeting him personally but he was pissed also. He left the rest of the staff to figure it out. Shaka and I parted company the moment he saw alcohol for sale.
