Title: Georgetown roll call
Post by: Norm on February 10, 2023, 12:12:26 PM
Hey Scoopers,

Just wondering how many are planning on heading to the Georgetown game tomorrow. I'm heading there with four other MU fans in tow.

Anyone planning on a pre-game other than the "official" one at Clyde's?

Do we think Georgetown fans boycott Clyde's going forward?

MU has been hosting pre-game receptions at Clyde's almost every year they have been in the Big East. Its literally about 50 feet from Capitol One Arena (formerly MCI and Verizon Centers).

I like Clyde's. Have been to 2 of their 3 locations many times.

I'll be in town with a small group. Going to City Tap near the stadium for a quick 1-2 pregame. They open at 11 but it's a short walk to the arena.

I'm not sure there are any left to stage a boycott.

I can't find it now, but there was poster in my Twitter feed who said it seemed that half the people on his fight to DC this morning were Marquette fans.

A little bummed the game is this week. I'd be in DC for a conference next week for Thurs-Fri and would have stayed over.

Thanks for posting that. My wife and I are in DC at a hotel and have enjoyed going to this game because it's often our only chance to see our guys live and our chances of a W are high. I am trying to focus on GT's terrible record, not the fights they gave some BE teams until late in the game. They made UCONN earn the W. This is our big chance to have sole possession of first place. Please please please- do NOT let them pull off the upset.

Snoop

Have a great time and get us a convincing win. We need positive talk going into the X game and need a big win today. I am counting on you!

Alumni in D.C. are Ringing Out Ahoya this morning at their annual @MarquetteU Alumni Club of Washington, D.C. Capitol 5K Run/Walk - what a great turnout! Shout-out to @PresLovell who joined them on the run!! #wearemarquette

The university has burned out its fan base. Announced average of 5,300 a game, probably half that, despite 45,000 alumni within an hour of the arena. Ten years ago? 13,178 a game for Big East opponents. The Washington Post stopped covering the team a month ago.

What's next, getting sent out of the conference?

Hopefully someday soon you'll be rewarded for your fandom. Just not today...

Huge game for MU today to bounce back from two pretty ugly performances and get some rhythm back before the two big games next week.

I'm not expecting an easy win, but one that is put away before the last minute would be nice.
