The bubble turns blue in today's bracket update, with a pair of marquee programs projected to meet each other in Dayton. We dig into the blue bloods on the bubble and also look at what would be an incredibly interesting pod for Marquette, featuring an alumni on the opposing sideline followed by some close ties to a former Marquette coach.

Good stuff Brew!
Such a weird bubble year. Teams like UNC and Kentucky have good metrics, but relatively weak resumes.
Then teams like Oklahoma and Wisconsin have weaker metrics but more Q1 wins on their resume.
And there's very little separation between last four byes and NIT 2 seeds. 16 teams for the last 8 spots. Glad MU doesn't have to worry about the bubble this year.
We saw with UNC last year, that their current record means nothing.
UNC was a total beast.
The more we win the more we help Bucky. Ironic isn't it.
Interesting
But, no way the NCAA has NC v. UK in a play in game. No way

Agreed. What is going on with that team? Lack of focus until the tourney lights come on?
Struggling to overcome Garcia transferring to Minnesota.
Its a set up for a Marquette/UNC rematch.

I want absolutely no part of UNC in March.
If so, hope MU shows up for the game.

Why? That would be great for the NCAA. If it's between UNC vs. UK with Charleston and Florida Atlantic in the NIT or FAU vs. Charleston with UNC and Kentucky in the NIT, the NCAA would do everything they could to justify UNC vs. UK.

Their schedule is tricky from here on out. A number of banana peels (@ Wake, @ FSU) and some games that might be tough but not particularly rewarding on the resume (Miami, Clemson). They probably need 2/3 against Duke & UVA without any major slip ups to feel confident.
I think their problem is a combination of style and depth. They want to run but don't have any depth. As a result, they've led some games but lost them at the end, or in the case of Syracuse almost lost to an inferior opponent. Maybe their new Iron 5 will be ready for March, but they need to turn it on fast because they are going in the wrong direction.
Lunardi still has UNC as a 9

Probably not but it would be amazing if they did. It would get tons of attention and would be pretty fun in my opinion.

We saw Michigan State vs UCLA in a play in just 2 years ago. If that's where they fall on the curve, that's where they'll go.
