That's awesome. Pimpin' ain't easy.
Sucks I was sick yesterday, otherwise I totally woulda rocked the pink at the game. Krystal Ellis is awesome. I used to peer-review her papers in ENGL 001. Yeah, we were tight like that, haha.
And wowwie wow wow...Erin Monfre is purrrty...always smiles and says hi to me in the hallway in Humphrey :) I don't usually care for taller girls (and at 5'8", I'm not likely ever to land a female basketball player) but man...Monfre...damn girl...
Also,
Props to the band
They were bedecked in Pink, plus the sweet pink suit on the conductor in support of breast cancer awareness
Plus
They mercilessly heckled the Pirates, singing the pirates of the Caribbean song, and shouting shiver me timbers! among other things during their free throw attempts.
It cracked up Hayward, Cubillian, Blackledge who were watching the ladies play.

Boy, did Stassi look fly. (always nice to get some appreciation, too!)
My only question is, did he buy the suit for this game or did he own it before this game was scheduled?
Things that make you go hmmmmmm!
That's a good question.
I thought if he added one of those big top hats he could double as the Mad Hatter.

I'd imagine a rental.
First off, great pictures! Especially of the pink suit. Are there any more pictures of that by chance?
Yes, I actually bought the suit specifically for this game. Unfortunately there is really no place in town that rents suits & no one had a pink Tux to rent as well... So Johnnie Walkers across from Grand Ave. was the purchasing place. If you ever want to take a step back to 1975, that's the place to go. Top hat and pink cane were sadly not a part of the bargain.
For the money, it was well worth it to show my support and seeing the crowd & team react was just as great
I will print you an 11x14 photograph if you will let me play with the band.
Tell Dr. Janners that I was a member of NARD and a snare drummer with a big time drum corps in the '70's (2 time DCI finalist if that means anything to you). Granted, I'm 47, but I still have more chops than any of the drummers in your band today of course I may be a little too wide to fit behind a drum.

That is hands down, awesome. To go through all of that for breast cancer awareness has to be one of the better stories I've heard this basketball season.
The fact you got that suit at Johnnie Walker's makes it even better. ;D

That is fantastic. I've wanted to go into that store for years. You just gave me a reason.

I'd assume you are looking for nice bright gold suit the wear to the next game?

Dr. Janner's is a percussionist himself and those are some great accomplishments to say the least. If you are planning on going to the women's game on saturday, bring your sticks and wear some blue and gold (just in case you werent planning on it). We mostly likely should be able to bring you in during halftime. You had the green bay sweatshirt on, right? I'll look for a rugby for the heck of it, but if you want to play, you got yourself a deal. Don't forget to bring your chops too ;)
And the gold suit crossed my mind, haha, but i'm not sure if I want to ruin too good of a thing. Only 360-some odd days before the pink suit will be worn again..unless we do some special easter game, ha
I left out my B.A. in Music Education from Northwestern but I didn't want to brag (MUHoops85 is actually my wife). I was not wearing a Green Bay sweatshirt but I do have season tickets on the floor. I'm rather large (unfortunately) once you see me, you would remember me. I used to yell at the band to play "Elvira" and occasionally they would do it. I will bring my sticks and the photo, see you Saturday.

I'll have to bring my camera Saturday - this will be a sight to see :-).

I hope you don't mind but I posted on a women's bball board I visit a link to the article and mentioned the game and gave you props for buying the pink suit for the game. The link and post I made was picked up on this women's hoops blog (updated made at 9:45p Tue 2/19):

I think Huggy may have the market cornered on the gold suit. Even the shoes.
