Once again it is hard to find anything not to like about Shaka. Hoping we have another positive Shaka presser on Sunday afternoon.
Shaka: "you know you have a good group when you want to play more than 5 of them at any given time"
Also. I hate Hurley. My least favorite coach. That said I listened to his postgame presser as well and I have to say in that setting he wasn't that bad. In fact, almost likable.

Agreed. Can't stand him. But he seems to really connect with his players. He'd be tough to play for, but he seems like a guy who has his guy's backs.

I know what you mean. He was ok in the presser after (Hurley) but he is a hard guy to like and his pre-game interview comment about "Marquette is hard to prepare for. They are like a low major with great players " still irks me. Lol
I thought Hurleys post game was really solid. Very complimentary of our stuff. Thinks Oso is a total pro.
The biggest thing that jumped out is he started talking about how BE play(conference play as a whole) is typically officiated differently and a little more loose than nonconference/post season.
And he said that in a way of saying that Uconn needs to get tougher and adjust to this in league play. And that they were getting pushed around by us.
Just great being reminded of the old days where we are regarded as tough. I mean we are clearly undersized against Uconn and their coach still felt like we pushed their guys around and got them off spots when needed.

You can tell he loves to be hated by the opposing fans. After the Kolek offensive foul which rolled into a media timeout. He was mimic the push off in the middle of the floor basically to tell the fans that they were wrong and it was the right call (in his opinion). Was really funny to watch.
Yes—ive seen him do that before. When the crowd is getting on the refs about a call, he will point to the Jumbotron replay and smile at the crowd...all while doing this alone at half court for all to see. Hes a character and he knows it.
A different c word describes Hurley more appropriately.
Not that this needs to be an Oso to the NBA thread, but I was impressed with his shooting range against UCONN. Between making his free throws and a shot at the elbow, I think that's the furthest he's shot from. It was still a bit of a floater form, but if he keeps showing evidence of being able to develop a jumper, it greatly helps his stock.
Also, Shaka's resume for developing big men will start paying dividends in the recruiting game soon. His work with Oso is proving it's not just because he got top talent at Texas.

Sounds like something Al would've done.
Also watched Hurley's presser. He called Kolek the best QB in the country. High Praise.

I vote for cockroach.
Nevada Smith and Travis Diener were on the Shaka Smart Show at Dave and Busters tonight as Shaka and the team apparently were at dinner with the Mayor.
Good stuff as always from Diener.
