This is the first hard one of the year.
KamOso
Kam was superb this afternoon .
Kam, but Oso deserves it too.
Kolek was good as well but not as good as the other 2.
Kam or Oso. There is no wrong answer.
Oso. Key offensive rebs and defensive rebs. Defense and offense. 16 and 18?
Kam by a mile. But Kolek and Oso were excellent, too.
Salim Stoudemire, er, I mean Kam Jones.
There is no wrong answer.
Oso. Controlled the game on both ends.
But I won't disagree with anyone voting for Kam.
Oso!
Best game by an MU center in a while.
Scored, rebounded, passed, initiated the offense. And, oh yeah, played great defense.
Outstanding on the PnR on both ends of the floor.
Leading scorer
Oso

Looks like we saw this game the same way.
Kam
Oso
Tyler
In that order, but I loved all three today.
Kolek. Took him out and ND cut it from 14 to 7 - goes back in after Joplin ejected and its game over.
But obviously Oso and Kam great nights.

Much as I love Kam, I think this is correct. 16-18-3?

Ok, it turns out there is a wrong answer.
Kolek really controlled the offense and kept us organized all game, and Kam was a scoring machine. Loved O-Max's game, too.
But 18 rebounds to go with 16 points? Plus his work on D? Oso gets the nod.

So you didn't watch the game or look at the stats? Two great games by Kam and Oso and either one would be very worthy of SOTG!,
Oso first half, Kam second half. Edge to Oso because I can't remember the last time a Marquette player had 18 boards.
Oso
Good thing our lovable moderators seem to have dropped the ball re SOTG (still none picked for the last win), as today is a tough one.
Oso was the bully, Kam was the dagger, and Tyler was the heart.
Pick one, any one. I'll go for Kam. No, Oso. Wait, maybe Tyler.
Oso, he took care of everything in interior and was overall more pertinent for the win.
Kam was 4 for 12 from three (he is not bashful) but made some outstanding layups blowing by slower defenders.
Oso Igohodaro
Honorable Mention
Kameron Jones
Oso
Easy - joplin
OSO-mio ! ! ! 8-)
A shout out to the MU crowd there. Heard clearly on TV both the We are Marquette and Let's go Warriors chants throughout the game.
Oso...look at the stats on this one...if we don't crush them on the boards this is a loss for MU.
Oso
His rebounding really controlled the game, and added a super efficient 16 points.
Kam was also very good, but I think Oso had a bigger overall impact.

That's actually not true...or only partially true. Omax was the Stud of the NC Central game. I did neglect to change the title of the SOTG box - and you should know this because there's no stud when we lose (WI).

Nice
I say Kam because he made sone clutch shots when ND was making a comeback
Kolek directed things well.
Kam seemed to score whenever we need it.
Oso had the boards and the tip-ins.
Oso.
Oso.
Oso. Disruptive on both ends
Easy to pick Kam. But Oso dominated the paint for us. Oso

Ah, useful to hear. I don't keep the SOTG box expanded and so had only seen the title and so presumed the contents hadn't changed. Turns out that you are indeed a stud yourself, Rocky. Give yourself a raise.

You sound like my ex wife
cam jones inside and out
ND is what Al used to call a "doughnut team" - big hole in the middle. All of our guys got to the rim with ease, nobody on their side to compete with Oso.
I give it to Kam - lots of big shots. Honorable mention to Oso and Kolek.
Kam.
Oso. He was a monster in this one.
Oso.
Shaka challenged him to get more rebounds and he grabbed 18. Absolutely huge today.
I have a feeling we will see a lot of 20+ point games from Kam this year and beyond.

I liked that Oso looked for his shot a few times with that little jump hook. Really added variety to his game.
Oso
Double double at half time. Had 9 fewer points on 10 fewer shots. More assists and overall better defense. 18 rebounds.
Anybody know if he got the MU triple double?

I'm sure Shaka would tell us if he did.
Also, I hope so. After expending all that energy he deserves one!

Kolek. We were outplayed badly when he took a breather.
Oso may have played his best game ever.

If you look at the games we have lost you can really see the importance of Oso putting up solid numbers. Especially his rebounding totals.

Yeah, as good as Kam and Kolek were, we don't have too many people 'round these parts getting 18 rebounds in a game, especially a decisive road win against the likes of ND. And those boards went good D, 16 points and him playing point center on offense.
Thumbs up, rocky. Especially nice the way you emphasized the rebounds.
What I didn't know last week, but came across today, is that Oso's 18 boards is the MU record!
miles
I do not think that 18 is the record. Pretty sure that at least Kojis had more in a game.

Yeah, I think Kojis averaged 17 boards a game his senior year.
According to the Marquette record book ...
REBOUNDS
28 Pat Smith vs. Loyola (Ill.) Feb. 8, 1967
27 Mike Moran vs. Loyola (Ill.) Feb. 23, 1957
26 Don Kojis vs. DePaul Feb. 8, 1961
26 Don Kojis vs. Creighton Jan. 14, 1961

Yeah, it's not close to the record. Pat Smith had 28 against Loyola in 1967.

Dr. Blackheart only grabbed the "easy" rebounds.
Henry Ellenson also had a 16/18 game in 2016.
