Ugh. Now I need to cheer for UW to get into the Q2 buckets.
It's going to be more important than ever to protect the home court this year....

Too soon?
I think so.

NO!!!!!!DON'T DO IT!!!!! You'll never be able to look yourself in the mirror again.
This, too, shall pass.
Did I read correctly?? I had to triple check.Including the MU game, Wisconsin's current NET is 77. How can that happen??
Purdue at #3 and Miss. State at #5, I believe. HUGE fan of these two from now to March.
Right. Don't root for UW. Ever.

Becky only 1-1 excluding Q3 & Q4 opponents. One road game. Lost at home to Fake Forest. Only 1 blowout win.

Thanks, JB.
I don't understand the NET ranking system as well as I should so I try to keep my eyes and ears open and ask people such as yourself for help.
I think one of the things you're telling me is that a 5 point road loss to Purdue and a 3 point neutral court loss to Miss State is impressive, as far as the NET is concerned, and that a home loss to an average Wake Forest team and close wins over bad Dayton and USC teams, sucks.

It's all about efficiency. When you lose you want to lose by small margin, when you win, you want to win in blow outs. Three losses by combined 11 points (two of which are to top 5 NET teams) and a blow out win against no. 32 (we're the main reason that they're that low), all help our cause.

Some additional context, Baylor is 2 spots from being a Q1 win. Wisconsin is 2 spots from being a Q2 loss. Mississippi State and Purdue are firmly in Q1 territory. Georgia Tech is closer to a Q2 win then a Q4 win. Radford is pretty close to dropping to a Q4 win. LIU, Chicago State, and Central Michigan will stay in Q4, though Chicago State and CMU are a lot better than what was probably expected.

My shock comes not from where we are (37 ) but where UW is ( 77). I guess I wrongly assumed that this early in the season, head to head results would play a bigger role.

Outside of MU, their best wins are in the 140-150 range...The efficiency has been poor in those wins as well.
Wisconsin only beat #360 UWGB by 11. That's a metric killer.

Head to head isn't a thing with computer numbers........every game result is inputted and the formula works it out.
Now humans will look at head to head in the committee room if it is appropriate.......but unless 2 teams are battling for 1 spot either in the field or on a seed line it isn't likely to be given much weight.

Hey Green Bay managed to beat #357 IUPUI earlier today! (Very well might be their only win this year.)
