Nice pics... Hilltopper! What kind of camera/ lens are you using?
Canon 650IS .. 12MP. 6x zoom. Nothing that special. There are other batter cameras, for sure, DSLRs, etc. But I want to watch the game.
This line of Canons have a flip out screen. It's perfect for glancing down, lining up a shot, then holding it steady while you watch the game, not the screen. I just don't want to sit there for 2 hours holding a camera to my face. Works for me.
It is really hard to balance how low the light is with how fast the action is. You can have blurry and bright pictures, or sharp and grainy ones. I aim for the middle.
Thanks for the info Hilltopper! The wife and I are looking at new cameras and I liked the quality of your pics.
The 12mp model is probably overkill for most people. And the flip-out screen is odd to many, but I find it invaluable.
Funny, compare today's shots with those of last season.
here's a link to a 2006 game, where I was shooting with a 4 year old 4MP Canon. -- Not sure there's a hell of a lot of difference!

Gosh, now that I look at both .. I'm kinda disappointed. My theory was that 12mp vs. 4mp would allow me to blow up photos like crazy, more so than the 4mp would allow with sharper detail. So far, not so much. -- However .. the 6x optical zoom has allowed me to take pics at the far end of the court, so instead of taking shots for half the game, I take them for the full 40.
