The judge who struck down student loan forgiveness had a PPP loan forgiven. Always bail out the corporations. Don't help out the low and middle class individuals though.
Are you suggesting that the judge somehow cheated under the PPP program? Because if not, you're comparing apples to oranges.

Legally yes. Ethically nah.

Are you suggesting that those who receive student loan forgiveness are somehow cheating? Because if not, why introduce cheating into the discussion?

No, I'm not suggesting that at all. Absolutely not.
Those who received PPP never had any obligation to pay it back as long as they used it for the specified purpose. The only way they became obligated to pay the "loan" back was if they cheated and did not use it for the intended purpose. The use of the term "loan" for that program is not even entirely accurate. As long as the judge followed those rules (i.e., didn't cheat), there was never any obligation to pay it back. That's apples and oranges to not repaying a loan that you agreed to pay back.
That said, I do not fault students with debt for taking advantage of the program. If it's available to them, it's absolutely not "cheating" to take advantage of it and they'd be crazy not to.

Incorrect. The loans were forgiven later, but they were originally intended to be paid back.

While that is technically correct, it is semantics and misleading. At the time applications were made it was specifically stated that "loans" would be forgiven if they were used for the specified purposes. People who participated in the program were told at the outset that they would not have to repay the "loans." Everyone who participated in the PPP program was told at the outset that their "loan" would be forgiven if they followed the rules set forth in the program.
NM
To be clear, PPP allowed many SMBs to stay in business, allowed many people to keep their jobs and benefits for their families, and many of those people never had the luxury of attending college.
As many Democrats have pointed out, student loan forgiveness benefits a lot of wealth and soon to be wealthy people and gives money from those who don't have the ability or inclination to attend college to those who do.
Me personally, I'd like if Biden found a way to help all American and not his discriminatory loan forgiveness plan.

Every gov't handout is discriminatory.

So....no more tax cuts for the wealthy? No more extra benefits for veterans? No extra funding for 9/11 first responders? Everything has to help
all Americans?

Im very tired of these farmer subsidies. I have a planter on my balcony with some herbs. I wish they would help all Americans who cultivate plants outdoors.
Don't forget the oil company subsidies. Locally, I am amused that Amway insists on tax abatements
And the taxpayer handouts to billionaires for their sports stadiums and arenas.
In before the lock.
No politics in this thread, eh?
Hey, at least both PPP and student loan forgiveness were passed by Congress.
It doesn't matter whether it was a good idea or not.
The court ruled that the President does not have the power to do it.

Yea.
It'll be interesting to see what happens when they get it to an appellate court not presided over by federalist judge

No shot. This will go all the way up the chain.
It's already been appealed to the 5th US Circuit Court of Appeals by the DOJ.
