14: Points by Barro
12: Rebounds by Barro
12: Assists by DJ
13: Points by Cube
17? Points by Jerel - where did those come from?
Very impressive win... FIRE UP MARQUETTE!!
Points in the paint: 38-24 Marquette (Thank You Ooze)
Assists to Shots Made: 20-28 (Thank you DJ)
Last 4 minutes of the first half and first 12 of the 2nd: 30-8 run (Thank you TC. Loved all the back cuts in the O)
Lastly, McNeal is my favorite player due to his random energy. He drives me crazy to no end, but he always finds a way to bring the action or find a way to make a play even when another part of his game is not working. He has been so much better the last couple of games playing within the offense. He is relentless.
I've never heard an assists to shots made comparison. Not to say that 12 assists by DJ is bad though!
I thought it was usually assists to TO ratio?
Can we change the score at the top of the page? I believe the final was 72-54

This "assists to shots made" ratio is an indicator of how well a team plays within their offense, working for the best shots. So, tonight is was 71% vs. our season average of 57%. Our opponents average is 51% for comparison sake, showing how well our guards pressure the ball. If you remember the first UL loss, MU had 2 assists to 17 shots made, or 12%--meaning (my observation) we didn't handle the press or their height particularly well and rushed/forced shots.
The "assists to turnover" is more common. It is an indicator of net possession productivity (how much I produced vs. gave up). Henry Sugar can do a better job explaining.
Good clarification, Pardner. The one thing I'd add is that "assists to shots" tells a bit about how the TEAM is functioning, while "assist to turnover" tends to refer to an individual.
Good to see all these numbers reflect players at their best. We know Ousmane is capable of 14 and 12, DJ can be great at running the offense, Cubillan can be one of the better 6th men, and Jerel can score a lot of points. When you get all of that, 4 points from DJ and 5 from Lazar can still bury a team.
