Title: [Cracked Sidewalks] Saturday Morning Madness
Post by: brewcity77 on March 12, 2022, 08:11:52 AM
Keeping up with this week has been crazy. We have a new S-Curve, which is definitely subject to change, and commentary on the bubble.

Thought conference tournaments didn't matter?

They matter more to teams playing their way out. Wake is a good example. Their loss was enough to take them from last four byes to last four in, but there's never been a team with a NCSOS as bad as theirs in the play in games. The reevaluation brought Indiana in, who was already right there.

Florida and Rutgers played themselves further away. Xavier and VCU hurt themselves, but not enough to fall out.

I'm very torn on teams that look to be playing their way in like Indiana and Virginia Tech because I'm hesitant on the play your way in theory, but they are certainly looking to test it.

Do the tournament games get categorized into the Quad 1-4 groups, or do they count more from an appearance standpoint?

Brew, what needs to happen for us to drop to the 10 seed line? looks like we're close right now :)

I was back and forth between 9/10. If Boise wins, it will be hard to keep them from getting up to the 8/9 lines. That's probably the most likely case I see, but either way it's close. I feel like 8-10 is a certainty, but it's very muddled.

Not feeling great about our seed.  I'm thinking a 10 or 11.  Our metrics have cratered and Xavier's meltdown really hurt what was supposed to be a quality win.

We avoid Dayton, but expect to be an underdog in the first round.

I'll be shocked if we're in the play-in game.  Sources at the Al have told me the plan is to have a few NIT games at Fiserv if the schedule allows

I would genuinely feel great about an 11 seed. Would probably be the best possible outcome now that it's out of our hands.
