Marquette. That is all.

Without Bryce McGowens, Nebraska's roster was more like a sub 250 NET team today. Pretty much as bad of a loss as you can take. This should drop them 2 seed lines to a 4.

Yeah, and I realize they already had one with Rutgers.

Nebraska took out Davis on a cheap shot that has no place in the game.  I love to see Wisconsin lose but without that play the Badgers win it.  A stone cold lottery pick only got ten minutes of action.  That was an incredibly dangerous non basketball maneuver from the Huskers, who also beat Ohio State on the road this past week.

Badgers will not be a 4 seed, 2 of their losses without Johnny Davis for most or all of the game. 2 or 3

Would like to see mu win or make a run in the bet. I think mu will be a tough out with teams we haven't played.

Look forward to post season

Hate to see injuries, even if it's a rival's player but you are wrong here. The foul had no impact on the injury. It's irresponsible to say that it did.

The guy was ejected after the play.  You might want to call ESPN and tell them to change their game headline!

I think his point is the injury appeared to happen on the incidental foot foul leading up to the flagrant

There is no place in the game for the flagrant foul that led to the ejection.  We can argue semantics all day, but the entire play was incredibly dangerous.

Maybe I'm not totally unbiased, but I don't think that looked intentional. It looks like he was winding up to block the shot and with Davis tripping/timing he pulled back and caught him in the head. Definitely flagrant, but seemed to me to be more accidental than anything.

It appears to me as retribution for Davis' impressive block. McGowens didn't play the ball at all when going up, he swung not his hand (as if blocking the shot) but chopped down with his elbow. He didn't make blunt contact, fortunately, but it was aggressive, unwarranted and flagrant.

This is what happened. Davis was out of control from half court onwards. Davis tripped again right when he was about to jump.

It's hard to judge intent, but Davis was stumbling towards the basket the whole time and it looked like McGowans was trying to hold up and landed on top of him.  Hope Davis is ok, but gotta say it's a bit ironic seeing the team that starts a serial nut puncher be on the other side of a flagrant two foul.

agree with you assessment. (I'd have called a flagrant 1.)

This exactly.  F2?  That's complete BS.   F2 is reserved for dirty play, so bad you need to eject.   That wasn't even close.

Gotta say, I find a huge amount of "flagrant" fouls to be bogus.  So many are just regular basketball plays that oops, no malice, just bodies flying two inches too close.

Good to know that Gard is going to "make the necessary phone calls" after he watches the replay.  With this and the Juwan Howard business, Badger self-righteousness is at an all-time high.

I'm no badger lover, but after watching the replay,  I think it was intentional. Though people are correct that the injury occurred before the flagrant

I did until I saw the under the hoop view.  McGowens never fully extends his forearm and visibly pulls it back as he realizes he completely missed the ball.

Hey, nothing about badgers in the OP! Equally applies to UWGB or UWM.

Definitely not a F2 - he was going for a big block and probably a foul to stop the layup- Davis was losing momentum and he never went up for the layup- so NB guy comes down on him. Certainly no intent to injure.

I just got out of 6 weeks in a cast from a broken ankle in my old man league. Basketball is a fast game with contact. Injuries happen and are rarely intentional (unless you're Floppy Mc)

It is the official position of MUScoop that it was NOT AN F2.

Anyone who believes otherwise must sit there in their wrongness and be wrong and feel bad about it ALL DAY.

See, it was the under the hoop view that led me to believe that it was intentional. McGowens never looks at the ball. His eyes are on Davis' head the entire time and that's where his elbow ends up. I didn't see anything that looked like an attempt at the ball, just Davis' head.

End of the day, only McGowens knows what he was doing in that moment. I see why the refs called it an F2.

My guess is that since The Vanilla Soft-Serves knocked off the Vadgers Nolonger  won't be prancing around here like the cock of the walk.
