I'll probably go. Make this my yearly FMB visit.
But damn, was really hoping for some better teams.

It makes sense they have Duke, Gonzaga, and Chaminade in the Maui in 2023.
Plus i think they replace the UCLA game with a Notre Dame game starting next year.

Huh. It's possible 2 of those teams have new coaches. Utah is historically bad this year

Is it possible one of those new coaches is Wojo?

Was bummed we didn't get a spot in the PK80 or PK85. Even DePaul got in. Hopefully the Shaka excitement will get us in the PK90!

Utah has a new coach this year, they aren't firing him after one season.

That's right. I forgot they dumped K last year. Well, Georgia Tech will have a new coach. Probably
Utah should be better in year two under Craig Smith. Not sure what to expect from Georgia Tech, Pastner may be in trouble.
The highlight should be Marquette vs Mississippi State in the title game. Both teams return the majority of teams that are angling for NCAA berths and both could be ranked if we get the final we would expect. Also kind of cool to have the Shaka/Howland clash as those were two of the most prominent names for our job in 2014.

Wojo to Georgia Tech, with Akanno at the point. Make it happen. Maybe Ganzer could live tweet the games inaccurately. Could Brian Wardle land the utah job? Maybe Gregg Marshall and Tom Crean could both be studio guys.
Hoping to go. We like that area, have lots of friends and family nearby, and the weather should be great. Watching MU win the tournament will be lovely, too.
Who's in the Palm's Division? One of those will be a home game. Rather weak lineup for NET.
Eh...mahi, snapper and sun beat turkey and snow. Not a great field, but they should win the thing. Will make for a nice week.

NET doesn't care about SOS all that much. Win by a big enough margin and you will be better off playing the #350 team than #175. This year it was #147 Yale, #184 Southern Utah, #234 Bowling Green, and #315 Milwaukee. It's fine. Certainly not Maui, but fine.

it was supposed to be Georgetown but Ewing and their AD knew they were going to suck ("rebuilding process") and backed out in August, so DePaul only got in as they were the only Big East team not contractually committed to another tournament.

Ah that makes more sense. Thanks.
Can't ask for a better location to travel to. MU will have the most fans there by a longshot. Will absolutely be making the trip for this one!

I was talking about the entire field as well.

especially considering Mississippi State and Utah don't consider it basketball season until football season is over.

Exactly. There are a lot of alum with winter homes in the Fort Myers/Naples area as well. Fun little story...I was on Naples Beach last winter wearing a Marquette hat. As we were walking off of the beach, a lady walked up to me and started talking to me about Marquette. It was Jump Around Guy and his wife! Really nice people.
Anyways, I have been to 2 Holiday tournaments (Orlando and Charleston) and I have been impressed with the MU fans that travel. It's so good that the other teams will go out of their way to say that they are impressed. I HIGHLY recommend all MU fans to try attending one at some point in the future. It's becoming a yearly trip for our family because we have so much fun and meet so many cool people (and we do it with 3 kids under 5).
This looks like one that will be hard for me pass on.

I have soft spot for Andre's.

It will be the first time seeing MU in FL since the Jerel McNeal walk-off steal & layup vs. South Florida in 2007.

That was fantastic!
Had to listen to the game, no TV. And MU was in the same conference as USF.
Great job by the ref to not be suckered into a charge call on the flop by the USF player.
