Let's go now!  Huge game.  Time for a resounding win to start this difficult 7 game stretch.

Gonna start the rebound watching right away.

Such a good defensive possession too

Have to rebound. It will lead to a horrific death if we don't clean that up.

Half court D looks awesome.

Get the boards and we should be alright on that end

Just need to settle down a bit. Even I couldn't have caught TK's airmail pass to O-Max.  Keep playing solid D, move the rock, and use the shot fake a bit on the vertical attacks.

Passing seems not as crisp so far……

O-Max too indecisive there.

Passing seems not as crisp so far……

Kolek had 1 brutal pass but hes found guys decently so far.

Issue is 3 have already been swatted/altered by the big dude. O max just traveled. And Justin missed rim.

We just gotta find a way to score in the paint when we get down there.

As I’ve said before imo Darryl Morsell is the biggest key to the way this season winds down.

A good offensive Morsell and this season can be very, very successful

Hes so good offensive when he takes smart shots like he has been again recently.

Hes a catch and shoot 3 guy. And then everything else is using his strength to either power to rim or create space on a nice mide range fade.

For a while he was just launching bricks out of flow.

Definitely gotta figure out SHU paint defense a bit still.

Up 10 with the ball and I have no earthly idea what Daryls pass was.

LIttle frantic down low so far. Also helps that it appears they are allowed to hammer us whenever we are down there

Slightly concerning that MU is shooting 61.5% from 3 and doesn't have a bigger lead at this point.

Not sure who these refs are but they are calling what they think is going to happen and not waiting to see what actually happens.  Shaka's guys are playing some great D with tight close outs and good position and are actually NOT foulling, but the lead up looks like the must foul and the whistle is blown before the play is finished.

That and a few bad block/charge calls.

And letting Hall's big guy hammer everyone.

Let's hope they swallow it in the 2nd half or it could make the difference in the game.

You can bitch all you want about the refs every game, but MU has not made a field goal since Joplin three with 2:30 left in first half. Three additional points since then are free throws.
An offensive slump, missed layups, dunks, etc.  almost 7 minutes

Mostly because the only time hes been called for a foul was the one time he got caught away from the hoop and accidentally tripped Daryl.

Anything in the paint hes free to get away with 3rd degree assualt.

Again rewatch the play. Greg pump faked, Aiken jump forward, Greg stepped forward at the same time to shoot. That is allowed and Aiken was moving into the player.

Had Aiken stayed out and not moved into the player, not a foul. Had he not but on the shot fake. No foul. As it was, Aiken fouled him twice, a reach, and on the shot.

GE was fouled / and MU had been getting screwed by the refs the whole
2d half
( Lewis getting hit / clobbered by two guys and no call ... )

I think MU wins another 2 or 3 in next 5.
They will split w / Nova ... beat X ..

Go Warriors!!

Refs were inconsistent. MU wasn’t getting screwed.

Aiken didn’t foul Elliott on the shot.

How about on the floor? Or are you solely fixated on the shot for some reason?

Yeah, too much adrenaline from the game. Time to relax and not argue.

This part is legitimately debatable, but there were similar calls during the game against the defender. Refs have had better days but glad it worked in our favor.

If there was a foul on the play and fouls evened out throughout the course of the game (both things Fluff admits) then there is no way SH got screwed.

It’s always against Seton Hall.

Every single game.

Love that attitude, Chi.

I don’t know what it is man, but I just despise that team.

Losing to Wisconsin sucks, but the Hall is just on another level.

It's okay.  It means you're a solid and observant human being.  Willard is beyond unlikable and a colossal asshead.

I don’t think it was intentional

THe way he shot it looked pretty intentional

Shaka confirmed it was. The players called for it.

Shaka and Darryl confirmed it was an intentional miss.

Intentional miss was the right call.

You think so?  It only took a tenth of a second off the clock, and allowed for a Laetner type play be a  winning basket rather than a tie.  What am I missing?

Then again, I rewatched the last call and completely felt it was a foul.  Need to give the shooter landing space...the defender got under him.  I seem to be in the minority with that opinion as well.

I think you take your chances with intentional miss. The odds are it is going to take a long distance three point shot and the extra point does not mean a great deal. That said, they did a great job of grabbing rebound and only losing .1 of a second. IMO, you needed to have the miss bounce out further and take some more time off the clock. I think it was the right call.

Missing it means that SH can’t run the baseline after the timeout.  Also MU didn’t make the same mistake Pitino did and guarded the inbounds pass.

With two timeouts, I don't see much benefit in the miss. I'd make both in case Breeding saw a mirage and called a foul.

Took about .3 off the clock iirc. They adjusted it down during the timeout.

Point

I can't wait until he passes my first test and gets a victory in March ending an almost decade drought. They have battled into pretty good position, and I will stick with my prediction they are ranked by 2/1.

Goose, I'll have what you're having!

I will be ecstatic with 4-3 during this stretch. And pretty good with 3-4.

But I want your outcome for sure.

Wasn’t able to run the line so they could stick Kuath on the ball.

I just got home from the game. Had "be a student seats." The booing after the noncall on Justin Lewis's drive and during the stoppage while they assisted him off the floor was as loud as I have heard in quite awhile. I suspect that may have had an influence on the call that sent Greg Elliot to the line at the end. That is sometimes what the home floor advantage is all about. I'll take the win with no apologies.

Jake

The meter started running the day Shaka was hired and no five year BS on evaluating the hire. Some on here thought building the system was the main objective this year and I believe winning is part of that system. High expectations are a good thing and I hope everyone starts thinking seeding vs. bubble team in the upcoming weeks. Have said it many times that this should be the worst team of the Shaka era at MU, but that does not mean winning is optional.

Apparently the ref told him he could. That’s why they gave the do over.

I could see this from my seats.  The inbounder asked twice (he did a finger waggle like the finger was running the baseline).  And both times the ref told him yes.  People around me were screaming before the play even began.

In my officiating experience (baseball, not football) I have always been taught that players are responsible for knowing the rules and the game situation, even if the ref/ump makes a mistake.  Giving him a second chance was very generous.

Yup like Shaka said he told the ref, doesn't matter it is still a travel.
