Thank you for sharing. Of course I enjoyed that.
Damn - easy to forget what a tremendous pure shooter Howard was. Wow! We need a Howard!
He played like Stephen Curry. It was truly amazing to watch. How could I ever forget just how incredible he was. Astounding.
We'll not see his like again.

Lord I would hope not. Could you imagine what a cancer like that does to a culture of a team? Even making two darling fan favorite transfer?

Thank you, that is one of the greatest things ever communicated upon MU fans on any medium.
What really impressed me watching that again was his ability to get to the rim. He was such a threat at the arc that any little shoulder shake could get his defender off balance enough to get to the rim and make the floater or up and under.
I would love to see a player like that in this system. He was a prodigious scorer at all three levels and a willing defender who just needed better coaching on that end.
Imagine if we had some who could:
* Coach his talent
* Manage big baby egos
* Be smart enough to accept feedback
* Had an ounce of critical thinking ability

correct. Therefore a coaching change took place. Let's see if it works.

Spot on. I hated the hire from the moment it was announced because I thought that a Dukie assistant would think all he had to do was recruit. Wojo's personality came across to me as that of a prep school headmaster. Although I have been wrong on many other matters, unfortunately my fears were confirmed.
I'm guessing that your profession involves analysis. Great summary!
Markus Howard will be MU's leading scorer when we are all in the ground. Top 25 all time. And probably would have been top 20 without COVID. I appreciate him for what he did accomplish.

Markus Howard preventing us from winning "titles and tourney games." LOL.
As the years go by we will value what we witnessed more and more.
He was one of a kind, a kind we won't see ever again.
Thank you Markus

Excellent perspective.

Definitely would have been Top 20. He is #21, only 8 points behind JJ Redick for #20. I think he would have scored that in the 2 games remaining.

Had he stayed healthy and played two more, he probably would've made it to #18 (finished 43 behind Kevin Birdsong, averaged 27.8 ppg). If we win a couple games, the top-15 was within reach (Hansbrough was 111 points ahead, his average over 4 games would've equaled that).
That said, the "couple games" would've been a matchup with Seton Hall in the BET and most likely either an 8/9 game or 7/10 in the NCAA Tournament, followed by a 1 or 2 seed (94 of 97 brackets on BracketMatrix 2020 had MU between the 7-10 lines). Not sure Wojo would've guided them to any more Ws.
That team couldn't guard a traffic cone outside of Sacar, but man were they fun to watch!

37/8. Not enough. Love watching Jay scream at his guy to not leave Howard alone at the 45 second mark.
As others have said, we will not see another Markus Howard. Lots of great players, but his shooting was just remarkable. We were SOOOO lucky to watch him in a MU uniform for 4 seasons....
It may be gauche to admit anything during the Wojo era was fun, but man, the Markus Howard show in the second half of the game against Buffalo will always be one of my favorite MU basketball memories. Hard to imagine we'll ever see anything like that again.

LOL sounds like he unleashed a "God DAMMIT Booth!"
Amazing to think about the amount of talent he had plus being a 1st team All-American his senior season and Wojo couldn't even get us in the rankings that year.

Marquette was ranked in the top 20 twice that season. #18 on Feb. 10 and #19 on Feb. 17.
If Hauser's had not left Woj would most likely still be the coach at MU
